I'd love AMD to bring these V-cache models to laptop as Dragon Range max memory is 5200mhz with much worse timings than in desktop. Having a CPU less affected by slow memory would be huge, especially as they are also more efficient

I recently built my first PC (for gaming) in over 26 years (being a Mac user) and combining a 7950X3D with a founders edition 4090 and G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96 has produced a breath-taking level of performance. I can literally throw anything at it with max settings - along with some quality DLSS magic dust - and it runs beautifully. Thanks!

I have a 7950x 3D and Asus Crosshair Extreme X670E paired with a Strix 4090 OC. Memory at 6000MHz CL30 is great with the CPU and no issues!

So precisely as expected. But it's still nice that you go through the chore of verifying the expected behaviour. Most of us don't happen to have several different kits laying around to do so ourselves, and manually using a DRAM calculator to simulate slower memory is nobody's idea of a good time.

Great tests, and a proof that AMD needs to bring 3D-cache for mobile Dragon Range laptops, as even €5000 dollar costing ones are coming with DDR5 4800 RAM.

I was hoping you guys would include that tuned ddr5 6000 MHz kit in this test so we could see whether it was the increasing bandwidth or latency that was making the Zen 4x3d game performance or whether you would have gained a lot more by simply tightening the timings
