Electric cars: 'I drove one for a week, here's the good and bad'

With the news that the sale of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned within a decade, and hybrid cars by 2035, drivers might be facing the prospect of ditching petrol and diesel sooner than anticipated.

But part of the reason why the announcement is so significant is because buying an electric car is not a decision to be taken lightly.

The idea of never having to fill up on petrol ever again might sound appealing, but the reality of living with an electric vehicle unearths several other considerations.
