Being able to have a permanent licence for harmony is one of the biggest pluses to me

Nice review of both applications. I've used Adobe Flash back in the day (late 90's). Always wanted to do more animation when I had some spare time. So better late than never I guess.

After all these years Adobe still hasn't managed a seamless bridge between Animate and After Effects. While they have introduced 'Dynamic Link' between a program like Character Animator, and AE Adobe Animates best option is still to export an swf or a series of PNG's, which isn't the best option if you use both programs back and forth.
If Adobe finally manages to bridge this gap, the combination After Effects/Animate beats ToonBoom...

I love that all the small animators are here in the comments section.

Edit: people replying to this comment make me feel guilty that I don't even make animations anymore :(

As a person which in the beginning bought a Ipad for starting animate on FlipaClip Procreate etc. Also as a person trying Adobe Animate I can truly say that when I meet Toonboom Harmony, my life has been changed and my passion to 2D animation raised to 100x. Toonboom is a best of the

What about coding? I once worked in a children’s company and was required to make apps for activities, score board, ar mirrors things like that. Also the coding made animating easier

If I just need character animation, no backdrops, no compositing. Just a Character -> do the animation -> export as PNG sequence.
Would you recommend "Spine Pro", "Adobe Animate" oder "Toon Boom Studio"?
