Sociopath vs psychopath is a complicated topic.
Most people believe that the terms sociopath and psychopath are used interchangeably by laymen.
But the term sociopath and psychopath are actually the same terms and the only thing that makes a sociopath different from a psychopath is that the sociopath tends to be clumsy and not as methodical and premeditated as the psychopath.

In today's video, I will discuss the difference between the sociopath and psychopath. In the next video, I will highlight how these individuals function within families.

I almost got kidnapped when I was a young woman. I was coming home from a night out and was in a cab. I remember as I was driving down the street I saw a man walking and I felt a strange feeling. When I got out of the cab, this same man just popped out next to me asking me for parking directions. Naievely, I was looking and noticed his truck was running, door open). Thank God the cab driver never left the whole time, at one point he said "Why is this cab driver still f++ckin here" at that point something in me bolted to the door and I ran in (I was staying at a friend's house) He drove off so fast. I was shaking like crazy and feared for my life. Thank God he never came around again. Just to say an angel was at my side that night. Never ignore that creepy feeling you have about someone. It's trying to save your life.

I watch a lot of crime shows on serial killers and they would label them psychopaths, but it appeared they all had traumatic childhoods. I think environment/upbringing has a lot to do with both.

I wish you could observe my dad I cannot for the life of me decide if he is a sociopath vs a psychopath. It’s hard to tell. I knows he’s one of them though.

I don’t know much about psychopathy, but a lot of the traits can also be interpreted as highly empathetic individuals.

Can you please talk about the fear of being murdered ! I was scapegoated as a child by my parents! My dad would there’s to kill me and chop me up into little parts and put me in a bin bag a get rid of me in the woods. I believed him and felt pending doom all my life. He was also physically abusive. Now I isolate and I am deeply afraid of ppl and being killed! I think about it all the time. It’s like ever since I was a little girl I get lucky to be alive and felt that something bad was coming. I never thought that I would live past 13 and now I’m 23. Please help I don’t know what’s going on In my mind. A lot of my family have 0 empathy and get off from my pain and suffering

I have a question. Do people with BPD tend to be sociopathic? My bpd roommate is actually insane (sorry I know that’s offensive language), but she is so manipulative and is never sorry. It’s as if she has NO emotion in her.

Aren't most psychopaths not criminal though? Or is that a criteria for the diagnosis?
