Thank you for this video! I couldn’t figure out the leak on my Honda shadow, then this video was released. Saved me a lot of headache and anxiety worrying about a split case or another gasket that requires a motor out service. You the man!

Cool. Ive been working on bikes for yrs. I always thought the oil would piss out doing it this way so I would remove the cover then replace. You are never too old to learn something new. BTW Im 60. Onya Cody thanks.

Love the rubber glove trick. Stored away for next time!

Thank you for emphasizing these seals don't need RTV or such. My PC800 had someone previous use this on the seals, so when I had to replace the shifter seal, of course I had to remove the case because weren't none of that poking, prodding, etc, happening. Ugh. And on that bike, you take apart the frame, and cooling and... yeah. It's not the funnest. :p

Thank you for this vid!

I really like your channel. I can tell you're a awesome motorcycle tech. I been in the industry since 2001 right outta high school. In our area we dont see alot of street bike sales compared to offroad. My first "big" job was a older xr250 countershaft seal that I thought I'd have done in minutes. Then I realized the seal was installed from the rear of the case lol. I always thought that was nite yo split the cases to install a seal. But I'm still a diehard honda man followed by Yamaha. Keep up the good work man.

That socket trick is exactly what I was looking for. My seal just worked it’s way out so I’ll clean everything up and put the new one in.

That was a great video and explanation. I have a 1976 Kawasaki KZ 900 with the same leak on the shifter lever. Is it the same process and where can I find the seal.

Shift shaft seal, say that 5 times real fast! I buy my “dental picks” at Hobby Lobby in a multipack for like $6.

Love your stuff Cody! Do you have a any videos about leaking exhaust gaskets on a Honda shadow, how to change them and any drivability issues they can cause when they leak?
