If you ever have the chance to sit with a Shaolin Monk or a Buddhist Monk, take it! I promise you won’t regret it. The peaceful nature and dedication they have is palpable.

As a Chinese, I feel as long as the tradition and history is preserved, commercializing it is a good way to advertise and promote the practice to keep it going. If the practice was kept away from the world, then it would die out as the world modernizes. The history is too rich to let it die, you can still preserve your culture while modernizing it.

As a Chinese, I don't like them developing the Buddhist holy land of Shaolin Temple into a commercial place.

The little shaolin monk boy you see flipping at 18:05 is now all grown up now and is my current shifu! AMAZING! I feel so honoured 🤩🤩

I think the appeal of Shaolin is undeniable. I think it encourages the benefits of meditation. It demonstrates that hard work is the most reliable path to success. Shaolin contradicts no religion, apposes no government, strengthens character, self-discipline, and health, and in my opinion should be a worldwide practice.

I was so happy to see them teaching other things like skateboard and basketball. Not all the time but also a chance for kids to play. To practice their social skills in common world activities.

I think its beautiful and I never would have been aware of the temple or Kung Fu if it wasnt for the temple becoming more commercialized. Surely there can be a happy respectful medium while sharing such a beautiful history. Im very thankful to Shaolin for opening its doors to the public. 🙏🙏

Even the monks that don't make the Shaolin Team still have extraordinary feats of agility, speed, power, and coordination. Thank you.

I am not Chinese but from my early teens have always appreciated Chinese culture, its martial arts, and Shaolin temple, so I concur with your sentiment.

Excellent presentation! I am truly amazed and impressed by the dedication these Shaolin monks display in teaching and coaching these bright young men to honour such a respectful craft. Learning about the history of this ancient art, knowing it wasn't intended for violence, is truly liberating. I hope to visit the temple in the very near future. Thank you for such a wonderful and informative documentary.

It's a shame that something so Chinese traditional had to become western commercialized.

I studied shaolin in china for a year and made into the schools performance team. During my training all I heard everyday is "faster, stronger, more power, more, more, more power"!
