It’s sad that people have been trapped strongly in the matrix- Go to school, get a job, and then slave away your whole life. You can be so much more, you can do so much more. Many miss out on life changing information that could impact their finances.

People are tired of the toxic workplace. These sadistic management and coworkers are the number one reason people are leaving.

Who wants to work 40 hours a week for 45 years at a job that sucks the life out of you?

I have walked out on a job with absolutely nothing lined up. When you're tired of dealing with attitudes from management and that workplace, you will walk.

Many people experience a rise in stress, anxiety, and even depression when they think about returning to work on Monday. I call it the Sunday Night Blues.

I'm gen X and was told to get a good job with benefits and hang on to it. I did for 28 years. I worked for a supermarket, and I quit because the management was awful, and they didn't respect my work-home balance. I used to hate every day I went to work and my coworkers. My side hustle became my main income. I don't regret quitting for a minute. Life is to short to let your job steal your joy.

I work for the postal service, and the sheer number of incompetence that management has is alarming. There seems to be zero accountability, barely any training, and a copious amount of callouts from younger folks. I am trying to pivot to a different position and different employer entirely at this point. I just hate the environment that is fostered there.

I think I need to get a job at Wells Fargo.... If an employee sat in his cubicle for 4 days dead and no one noticed, they OBVIOUSLY don't micromanage... IJS😆

Reasons - health, anxiety, stress, sleeplessness, all convos are trauma bonding with colleagues and personality becoming more and more cynical. After quitting, all these problems went within a week. Peace of mind is a MUST !!!!

was burnt out from academia and no work-life balance - now in retail, a lot happier knowing I dont have a thing to do once I clock off. bit of a pay decrease, but it's worth it right now for me.

Quitting is cheaper & more proactive than bail or getting arrested .

Ironically, I was just talking about this to someone a few days ago. I am in management and it is what I love to do. I enjoy watching my team grow. I believe in ACTIVELY listening and challenging them to look at certain situations with a different perspective. I stand for what's right, not what's popular. I believe in accountability. If I'm wrong, I own it and I apologize. I have worked for some AWFUL leaders and although I loved my job, I left because I couldn't deal with the management.

Millennial here. Something changed my brain chemistry when the lockdowns hit, and that same year a new CEO was appointed in the organization I worked with. He was well-known in the industry as a major d-bag, so everyone was stunned when he got the job. Business partners were pulling out left and right, and close connections no longer wanted to be associated with us. I'd say 85% of the staff quit, myself included due to incompetence from the guy, and I already picked up whiffs of something foul going on behind the scenes. Tried finding new jobs, but discovered that I could no longer stand the commute and office environments. Took some time off while working part-time, and now I'm freelancing full-time. I will never work in an office again!

I think a lot of the burnout directly correlates to the fact that wages are not keeping up with inflation. I know I have personally had jobs that were extremely demanding of my time & energy, but I was making really good money. In that case I was a lot more willing to put up with BS & BS managers. At that time I had enough money to live comfortably & fund my dreams & hobbies outside of work. But when you are working a shit ton of hours & barely able to scrape by, the burnout is real. I lose the will to work when it is like sacrificing my life to barely even scrape by. It is a miserable feeling.

9 to 5's are comfortable and there's nothing wrong with that. A lot of people just want to get out of school, get into a work place, cop some benefits and call it a day. Sadly a lot of those people are also just working to pay bills, can't even get the time off to relax or use a lot of those benefits when needed so it's almost a waste. A waste of life, talent, skill of everything and previous generations probably never realized this until it was too late while newer generations are starting to understand this now and they're speaking out about it. It's a sad situation all around honestly.

Work has gotten worse since COVID. There will be a mass exodus from jobs next year. My experience has always been because of Management, not money. It is always the people.

I used to work at McDonalds about two years ago. Way back in 2022. It was my first job actually. I was 18-years-old at the time. I was only there for three months and after that short time, I quit. My former manager there was literally a monster. She was vicious, angry, and just a very incompetent manager in general. She had the most nattiest attitude ever. She treated me, and the rest of her employees like trash. I didn’t have enough courage to speak out about the way I was being treated though unfortunately. She would also yell at me in front of customers and embarrass me. I couldn’t take the verbal abuse any more and mustered up enough courage to quit. Forget putting in a two week notice. I quit in the spot. I felt so good both mentally and physically after making my departure from that toxic work environment.

I quit my last job without notice last November. It had been building up inside me and a manager did something so egregious that I was done. It was a decent pay job that I hated going to. No, I had nothing else lined up. I took 3 months before I decided to look for another job (was in a decent situation financially at the time). Currently earning less but feel respected usually. Much less toxic atmosphere. Much less corporatey. It's a local company, and I prefer that.
