My fear is it will be even more invasive and more restrictive than Win11. But I'm a person who has lost all trust in the leadership of big tech.

I would like to see the Classic Windows themes making a comeback for sure, not only Win7 and up but also WinXP and a Windows2000/95 theme!

I wish Microsoft watch this stuff, and I wish a very clean integration of all tools and let us install the few we use

I loved Windows Classic UI from the Windows 98 days and would love to see that make a return. I don't see a reason to have ever removed it as an option for people who wanted it. Also, another thing Windows 98 got right and is something you touched on, installing features during setup that you wanted and not installing those you didn't want. Sure, it had a typical selection in which it would just install whatever was preset but you also had an advanced mode where you could go through and check items you wanted and uncheck those you didn't want to your heart's content. They can make it happen, they just need to give more power back to the end user.

I'm not surprised that 11 ended up being an 8-style bridge to 12. Native classic skins coming back would be a nice feature, but I don't expect them. Also don't really know how to feel about this prototype default look nor their talking up of AI stuff.

Classic Mode with Vista/7 design (aero galss) would be GREAT!
It's probably the most desired feature there is.

As one of those people who "Don't like change", I want to say that I'm not against change per se. I don't give a damn about updating the OS on my laptop - so long as it works.
My laptop is a tool to do other things. I don't want to spend a lot of time wondering if today it's going to work the way it did yesterday. I just want to use it and get through what needs to be done.
I love your videos. Keep up the good work.

Agree a hundred per cent! Get classic menus and settings as an alternative and the adoption rate would go thru the roof, entirely without the need to lure people into it or even worse, as with the ten rollouts.

I agree with you that we need classic GUIs and compatibility with all previous hardware. If AI were logical and not hardware-bound, drivers could adapt automatically. My reason for not upgrading to newer versions is that I get lost when I'm looking for familiar paths to the functions I use or need. And I know what you're going to say, use the search engine or make shortcuts. It's not as easy as you think if your first language is not English. Basically, everything remains in English and the search engine does not find expressions from other languages. And I'll find a way out of the labyrinth in games, but in Windows I'll get lost because they'll move the thing I'm looking for under another branch, chapter, or it won't be accessible in the new image at all.

Originally when Microsoft was testing the new interface, it was a feature update for Windows 10. Later it became Windows 11

I liked the Windows 10 model... gave me everything I needed. It actually brought me back from Linux. I may have to consider looking elsewhere as Windows returns to their old ways. Every new "model" launch gives me reasons to reconsider other OS's.

The best idea I heard, integrate the possibility to use classic desktops. I'm in favor👍

I have more than one machine still running Windows 7 today without any issue. If MS bakes in a Windows 7 classic mode into Windows 12 I will DEFINITELY be making the jump. This cannot be understated. Microsoft needs to make this happen.

Stardock FTW. Seriously, I love these guys' work! Start11, great way to customize your start menu how YOU want. So many other great customizations!

I like your channel, even if I am Linux user. :) But I have to support my relatives PCs which run mostly on Windows. Your channel gives me tons of good Windows info.

Smartphone integration already exists in Windows 11 (“Windows Phone Link”) and it works fine. It’s not perfect but it’s certainly good and does the job.

100% agree on the Classic Desktop mode idea. I miss the UI and UX and Windows 7.

Very nice video, I like the friendly demeanor (smiling despite all the c rap) and getting up and leaving in the end, before the video stopped, is a nice artistic touch. Vlog on!

I like change as long as it isn't backwards. Windows 8 was backwards AF. I couldn't even find the power button to turn the damn thing off before my head exploded. Some of Microsoft's changes are akin to moving the light switch to inside the bedroom closet. Somethings are already in the best place and never should be changed.

I hope any new windows has a mode to make it look like windows 7 or Vista. That was my favorite windows experience
