For disabling Recent Files, no need to go to the registry. Simple open File Options, go to View, and disable the 2 bottom check marks, then press ok. It's good to note that you can also set the Windows explorer to open directly to This PC from this same settings interface.

Disabling WMP also disables the "hover preview" feature in Explorer for media files, that's the only reason I re-enabled it

For the first tip, if you don't want a file to appear on the recycle bin, just press shift+delete instead of just delete, and it will be deleted permanently
