At 62 years, I've found that investing time at the gym is the make or break for trends. If you're in shape, take care of your skin, this allows you to pull off styles others can't at the same age.

When it comes to style. There's only two I trust to get me right. The Style O.G. and 40 over Fashion. Never did me wrong. Always have me looking good and standing out.

Yes! Plaid pants are trendy for over-40 men, when worn with solid shirts, polo Ts, leather shoes tan/black, burrgundy suede and the combos are multiple.👍

I think it’s okay to try a trend worn by men over 40 but not to follow a trend of kids in their 20/30s.

I am over 40. I agree to be in the loop on trends. One trend I will not follow any more is the ripped/destroyed jeans. A guy in their 40s looks way out of place and I feel, should stick with the more classic jean look.

I've got to say at 47 I stick to the classics! I've tried "trendy" cloths but always felt arkward in them!

GREAT INFORMATION AND VIDEO THANKS MAN. I'm 63 dress your age, keep CLASSICAL. Dress what looks good on your body. Color in pants or shorts keep shirt one color. Shoes the BEST YOU CAN BUY. Classic and SIMPLE.

Good topic, well stated and some good points. The key I believe as we get older is that we stay age appropriate and we look at the classics, but more so that you pay attention to fitment. We have reached an age were we have lived and seen the "trends". At our age, our trend is a classic style that shows we are the adults in the room. But the fun part is that you can get away with breaking a "rule" and wear that special t-shirt from your grandkids, if you're a Grandpa... but you also know how to look sharp... good topic. Stay dry in Seattle... I used to live in eastern Washington.

I'm 41, and realize that all my clothing were either to long, or to baggy . Especially shirts and jeans. Thanks to you, I've but pair all white converse shoes, smaller size shirts.. feel more comfortable in my clothing

I’m 47 and still at my high school weight. Fitted clothes are the greatest thing since sliced bread. When I look at pictures from 20 years ago, I was swimming in my shirts.

Ditto Ron's comment about 12 comments below this one (May 13th). Also: wear ripped jeans if cleaning the garage or flying a sign at the side of the road. Or if you just want to look like a failure. Slobware is never classy. High fashion clothes, even if they fit well, don't really make up for the slovenly look, so take care of your skin, get some exercise, and keep your hair and beard trimmed. Oh, and smile! If you want to look good, a confident smile is an asset. Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin made a valid point.

I'm 48 and just go with regular cloths. I think white pants is a bad idea. Anyway my kid is a Senior in High School and at his football games one of the dad's that has got to be 40's himself and has 2 High School kids on team as well. He wears Bling style pants you know the flashy stuff on the back pockets. I don't know how any adult male could look at this kind of pants and think its gonna look good on you. It looks ridiculous. I think its one of the worst things I have ever seen.

It helps to be fitter and in better shape; fit and in shape however is not the trend as most age. Best of luck in Seattle.

We should keep an eye on trends and see how to incorporate them into a classic style. So classic stlye with a few well planned trendy pieces. I wait for trend to Ralph Lauren most times. By the time they put their stamp on it they have classed up the trend. If that makes sense

Please do a style video with the trousers. Who knows. I did not think I would wear white pants or even chinos but now that is mostly what I wear thanks to your content. Bummer your not in town now but wish you success!

Welcome back to my home town, Seattle (I'm in Tacoma currently). I'd like to hear that story. I'm curious how the change of latitude effects your look. White pants take on a little different edge in the NW as do many items when comparing SEA Vs LAX. More opportunity to layer..?

John another super important topic, I listen to the trends but always try to stick with 3 rules:
Comfort, age related, my version of trend, just my thing. Not all trends are going to suit men over 40....or 50 lol. Great vid again, keep us in the loop.

2 months off turning 50 and I still try to follow trends but I think about very carefully. I tend to follow your idea of the striped shirts but go more classic.
Checked trousers yes would be good to see something on that!
