How to build your first app using Power Apps | Automatically with Copilot or from scratch

Показать описание
Create low code Power Apps to automate everyday tasks. AI-driven Copilot capabilities make it easy to interact with your app and its data using natural language. Or simply build an app from scratch. We’ll demo how to build an inventory app for mechanical parts, that anyone can use on the job, to track and enter new parts.

If you’re new to Power Apps, it’s a part of Microsoft’s Power Platform for building low code apps and processes. Apps can originate from a task or process you’d like to make easier – like a streamlined approval process, or a way to capture and track information on the go. Run them in the browser or on your favorite mobile platform.

Emma Cooper, Principal PM Manager for Power Apps, shares key steps to build your first app in under ten minutes.

Thank you Emma, this is really cool to work with. I remember working with VBA and C++ (Win32 API) you needed to build objects to refer methods to get the selected item and then use a array with a index to retrieve data values. This is really an another way to develop software. I think Microsoft is going to a right direction to make solid apps that business sometimes needs to do little things without programming skills. As always I like to control code on myself, but having to think that Power Apps gives such a flexibilty to design and program the app (using GUI) is really cool to see. Hope to see more videos and examples. Thanks

I am not sure if it's possible but if this tool can programe in external APIs and databases then extract and populate the information on the front end, that would be a game changer.

We are using SharePoint online and have a document with links directly to various sites. What would be a compelling case to build PowerApps for approximately 13 processes versus a page with columns & rows with links?

I love power app and Interesting but property drop-down it’s difficult to understand. And right side bar uncomfortable to use.

I love this. Software engineers and computer scientists were fed up of human clients. It's time for everybody to struggle building their own broken apps. In the meantime we can move to other things 👍Also fixing the broken apps people will build with this thing is going to be the next multimillionaire business sector, for the ones who can bear it.

What's the point of releasing all these How-To videos using Copilot if no one can actually try it themselves?

building the app might be easy... signing up and interacting with Microsoft is the complicated part.... I just tried to do appears there is a 30 day free trial so it will take me a lot of time to just figure out how to get started.

I do not have the option to "create new table" at all even though I am the admin on my account. Where / how the heck can I get this to appear? I am barely started on this and it's been an immensely frustrating task to even get the most basic tutorial going.
