I was in Hudson fl, helping my friend with hurricane cleanup. The amount of debris piles along the coast, mixed with a Cat 3 hurricane is going to be catastrophic.

This meteorologist is super clear and articulates well. They all are as they must be, but this one is particularly good.

I’ve never seen back-to-back monster hurricanes hitting the same area like this. Also the rare paths both storms took and are taking.. I pray and hope this storm spins downward and goes out to sea, but it’s not likely to.

went swimming this morning in the Gulf of Mexico near Englewood Fl (60 miles north of Fort Myers) and the water was very, very warm… like bathwater

It’s so weird. The hurricane is just sitting there, still, not moving at all gathering everything like it’s charging up, then it’s supposed to all of a sudden start moving at cat 1 status? Idk.. this thing is gonna do damage..

I really hope we see this thing take the Euro model track. it's going to be BAD either way. But Tampa will have much less storm surge (STILL A LOT) if the northern side of the storm is what hits the bay itself. It's the southern side that brings the on shore flows and ramps up the storm surge to unfathomable heights. Also, frankly, it would spare my family as some spaghetti models have the eye coming right over my house. Prayers to anyone who gets hit by this thing, but I'm leaving tomorrow morning and I'm not coming back until that thing is well out into the atlantic and not doing some wild 180 back... At this point, I'm not taking ANY chances because this season has been ridiculously wild.

It's disturbing that for so many Americans (possibly all of them?) the name "Milton" brings to mind a minor character from a movie rather than John Milton.

Not to diminish the “hit” areas, but I’ve learned living in hurricane alley for years, that the worst area to be is where the storm doesn’t hit! You’re subjected to continuous rain and sustained winds if you’re just on the outskirts of the actual eye😮😢

All my life I have wondered how Tampa has evaded a direct hurricane hit. It was inevitable. We are always living on the edge. This one could wipe it out.

You remember the cyclone that lasted 3 months I believe, hit Africas coast travelled up and went back out to the ocean and turned around and did it again.
