They're miserable, bitter, hateful and nihilistic. They want to take the world down with them. I know because that used to be me.

Love that line. Miserable people writing Op-Eds, trying to convince you, *"You can be miserable, too!"* 😆😂🤣

I’m only 14 but I was able to realize this myself. The way I did is by looking at some old National Geographic magazines from the 30s to the 50s, i.e. when Klavan’s remaining began to turn gray, and then some from the modern day, and the difference is incredible. The old ones show the beauty and wonder of life and the world and the new ones are just complaining without end

My (leftist) mother blamed Trump today on the post office losing something she mailed me last year.

They love to point blame, never looking inward.

They are so miserable because deep down inside they know they're WRONG, but also know they can never admit it - because if they did, they would instantly become extinct and cease to exist. Admitting they are wrong would wipe out 50+ years of everything they stood for and supported

They look at the whole country and society in a negative way and imagine themselves in a crusade to right those imagined wrongs, It's called wasting your life and attempting to waste the lives of those around you.

You might be miserable too if you placed your entire value as a human being on how much of a victim you can convince yourself you are.

Miserable because they run away from things that will bring true happiness - and run towards things that will bring misery.

I have been saying this for YEARS. It's amazing how pervasive this entire philosophy is in modern society.

Remember when they couldn't even put together a web site to distribute Obama Care?

If they don't blame others they would have to accept responsibility for themselves and the state of their lives since they are a free people.
Unfortunately they would rather destroy freedom for all, than ever except personal responsibility.

cognitive dissonance; believing things they know to be contradictory and untrue. Performance anxiety; constantly walking on eggshells and trying to keep up with the social pressure.

They are miserable because they don't have the guts to stand up against tyranny

i honestly hate being in the kitchen for long periods of time. i end up accidentally burning my arm over the stove, and I was always accident prone as a kid. But I became a fantastic cook over the years as a young independent woman. My husband appreciates this and knows i hate being in the kitchen if i cook lots of meals over the week and treats me to restaurants when i complain. thats what young people today dont get about marraige. Its a compromise. my husband shows he cares when i say i dont feel like cooking, so he treats me accordingly. This Atlantic woman is sadly stunted and sounds like a man with a midlife crisis.

I rolled my eyes at her answer to what's in it for men. The question was pretty clearly referring to the left's modernity, and that's the interesting angle to look at instead of explaining to conservatives what they already know about marriage.

I’m so glad Klavan commented on that Atlantic article, I read it and had so many issues with it. I always look forward to Klavan’s cultural takes, they’re always extremely well thought out and so truthful.
