Fasting for me was never about the weight loss. I was targeting being able to fall asleep and the chronic inflammation. I tried the 8/16 + weekend omad, 8/16+ weekend 48 fast, than 8/16 + 72 fast. I want to try a bit of everything. It felt so so good. I can sleep, my chronic inflammation subdue, my mind is much more at ease. (3 weeks of this I am down 16lbs by the way). Finally off melatonin and antihistamines. I will continue with this lifestyle UPGRADE!

Started IF last June to lose weight before a trip to Italy in October. In those four months I lost about 35 pounds (and I only gained about 5 in Italy). I mostly did OMAD, with a couple 48-hour and 72-hour fasts thrown in. I’m trying to vary my fasts now, ranging from 16 to 24 hours, and have decided to do a regular 36-hour fast by not eating on Mondays. Dr. Mindy has really opened my eyes to how miraculous our bodies are. ❤

I am still reading your book and last night I finally got to the page ( I think 151 or 152) where you say what one could eat to stretch the fast without breaking it. Man was I happy, because I was starving and only 23 hours in. ( I had just taken my dogs on a 3 hour hike, lol) one spoon of homemade, unsweetened peanut butter did the trick. ( and saved me from raiding my fridge, lol) I slept like a baby and continue my fast until tonight. A big🫶 from France, Dr. Mindy!!

Post menopausal: I Lost 50 lbs in 5 years. Some of it was muscle mass. In order to lose the last 10 lbs, I had to put in a 36 hr fast once a month while increasing the amount of resistance training and cardio. "recomping" slows the process down but I find it a healthier choice.

Before I found Dr. Mindy’s program I lost about 60 pounds with keto and fasting. Every time I want to lose weight I fast. People think I’m crazy, but they’re about to think I’m REALLY crazy when I start fasting daily as a lifestyle. Dr. Mindy’s book was a read! I’m personally fasting for various reasons but the biggest is to stop weight fluctuations so much. I feel so grateful to find this information in my mid 30s - What a wealth of knowledge! 💙

Good Morning Dr. Mindy. I wanted to share something with you. On My 600 lb Life (S. 11, E. 6) a person came to see Dr. N and got on his diet program. He didn’t quite hit his target goal and explained to Dr. N he was following his diet along with IF. Dr. N instructed him to IF correctly with 16:8. Consistently every 2 months Chris was losing 50 lbs and opted out of surgery. The episode finished with Chris losing over 230+ lbs using IF. The episode never updated or finished his journey. But the more he IF, his addictions disappeared, he had more energy to exercise, and overall his mood/mental health drastically changed.

That episode is a hidden gem.

Start fasting after dinner on Sunday. Start eating at 12pm Tuesday. 42hrs.
Then continue the 16/8 rhythm until the Sunday, and start the 42hr fast.
I really like how fasting gives me a clarity of mind. I feel lighter and more efficient.

I went from 158 to 135 with Intermittent Fasting in 6 months following Dr. Mindy and exercising. I’m creeping back up to 140, so I’m preparing for a 36-hour fast, which I’ve never done. I know it’ll work! Downloading the guide to deal with hunger cravings (when my body needs to be fasting) because that’s my current issue.

I started fasting with a co-worker to support her for her weight loss. On cleaning up my whole entire body's chemistry. After fasting about 6 weeks I found out my dad has dementia. So fasting is a lifestyle for me. Because it was said that his dementia is genetic

I just finished up a 36 hr fast yesterday and I feel great! I've been intermittent fasting for nearly 5 months and mixing up the fasting windows like you advise. This was my third longer fast and I was delighted how much smoother it went. I had serious gut grabs when I broke my previous long fasts. This time I took it VERY slow...just a bite or two for the first few hours. Then just sipped broth and let it all settle down before a real meal. After my previous longer fasts, i broke out in little water blisters on my lower back and had stingy tears at the outer corners of my eyes. This time I didn't have those issues. So I'm assuming that my detox pathways are functioning better!😊👍 Thanks, Dr. MINDY!

Dr. Mindy, thank you so much for all of these encouraging videos. When you said " if it was just CICO, we would have solved the obesity problem years ago" I wanted to hug you! I'm so tired of hearing this! Also the whole - well your body gets less efficient with age, menopause, work out moe, etc. I love fasting and it is truly the only thing that has ever worked for me. I'm doing rolling 40-8's right now because I need to fit in some professional clothes rather quickly. Your tip to alternate fasts was just the thing to budge my slump from the 16-8 daily lifestyle that wasn't working for me. ❤
