To complete the design, I turn a piece of wood into a beautiful handle by converting my drill press into a lathe machine. The handle features a custom copper lid, carefully crafted by cutting and soldering it. Engraving the logo by hand push graver. The result is a perfect blend of metalworking, woodworking, knife making, and engraving—all in one project!

This project showcases a variety of techniques:

I think anyone who calls themselves a maker, should make a few of their own tools. I have a nice marking knife I made years ago, and a couple other tools. I really like this one. The twist is just right! Nice tool!
