Angelo's Mom Makes Walnut Cake - Carla Hall's Recipe

The cake had a very nice sour flavor mixed with the sweetness, due to the buttermilk. The orange zest also mixed in nicely. I think I may prefer that to totally sweet cakes and even though I only had a small piece (I'm still trying to get my cholesterol down) I remember the flavor strongly, which is usually only true of foods I really like or really hate.

My mom talked about how she's exercising now (after I've pushed her to for years). She's finally losing weight and we'll resume her weight loss series soon! And still doesn't know how to say "powdered sugar". She says "sugar powder". When I correct her she says, "potted sugar".
