I was with my 5-stack yesterday, and it was very late. We'd lost 3 games back to back all of them on overtime, yet some of us still wanted to play to "leave with a win". I refused because we were both tilted and very tired, and I absolutely knew we weren't going to have fun. Told them to chill with a swiftplay and we just trolled around with Agents we don't usually pick. Lost 5-0, but we were laughing, so we ended it there. You should always stop playing when you're not having fun anymore. It's a game, you're supposed to have fun so if you're not, rest a bit.

Game sense can be learned, but it is an arduous task and many people struggle to quantify what game sense is so I will lay it all out.

Game sense can be defined as using information you have to acquire and or act upon information other than what you directly see in front of your crosshair

For a quick example: You do not know where an enemy currently is, but what you do know is where they were, where your teammates were/are and as a result (game sense) where the enemy can be.

That example is quite limited in scope, but it conveys the basic principles of game sense.
So, to "learn" game sense you need to consciously and purposefully use information available to you, (your "bucket" of information) to either act or, estimate unknown information, the most important of which is enemy position and then act.
The key starting point, is to actually start paying attention to the information the game gives you, :

Audio cues, economy, and your minimap/map give you a lot of info you otherwise would not have and paying attention to them will greatly increase your information bucket.

Audio cues can be split up into a few different categories, which themselves can be divided:

Agent voice lines, Walking/movement audio, Map audio, Gun audio and ability audio

Map audio and Gun audio are the most straight forward:

Gun audio tells you what gun was fired and from where, this information is limited in value but it does help you choose what fights to take and will help pinpoint where an enemy is.
also, you can use gun audio to determine when an enemy is reloading providing you with an opportunity.

Example for using gun audio as an information base:

You are in Haven garage as a defender, you hear gunfire, a vandal firing from the attacker window towards your teammate on B site, several bursts of fire, none simultaneously.
Now, what can be reasonably assumed from just that information?
1. There is an enemy player in B window
2. They are alone, as no simultaneous fire was heard
3. they are either reloading or will have to soon

Map audio is also very straight forwards, ziplines, doors, hatches, doors breaking and teleporters all give distinctive audio cues which you can use to obtain an enemy's general location.

Agent voice lines:
Allied agents will automatically give a lot of information, such as:
Enemy location and number, when they (allied players) are reloading, when the spike dropped and where, and ability/ult usage/status.
Enemy agents will proclaim the use of their ult.
Another thing to mention is the quick chat function, which allied players can use to have their agent say a voice line which can be a form of comms.

Walking/movement audio:
Besides the more obvious use of giving off where an enemy is, walking audio can sometimes tell you which agent is moving, as kay0 and breach both have a distinctly different walking sound from other agents, also what surface the enemy is moving across changes the audio, grass, metal, wood or sludge each part of the map changes how movement sounds, which helps you know where and in what direction an enemy is travelling.

Jumping/falling audio:
Jumping audio can inform you of an enemy jumping up to somewhere, or in the more useful case, of an enemy B-hopping in which case they most likely have their knife out.
Falling audio will give you an enemy's specific position and if the enemy is Jett, Breach/kay0 (of course only useful if the enemy team has any of those agents)

Ability audio:

All abilities have an audio cue which informs you of when and where they are in use, which besides giving you time to react, gives you information of what they no longer have/is on cooldown for later in the round and for the next round.

Keeping track of the game's economy, both teams, will inform you of several things:
Firstly, the enemy economy: at the start of each round the scoreboard updates how much money each enemy has, which will determine what kind of buy they can have
That knowledge in conjunction with what guns/abilities where lost, used or kept will provide you with detailed information on what the enemy team will have going into the next round and such will inform you of what strategies they will have to attempt

Your own team's economy:
Managing your economy is of course important, but is not really part of game sense,
What IS included is whether or not an enemy has taken an allied teammates gun, which will clue you in for the next round as well as later in the same round.

Minimap/Map:
Your minimap is an extremely useful tool which will tell you of allied utility and deaths, and when in allied los (line of sight) or when revealed by util, it will show you enemies and the spike (if dropped or planted)
Glancing at the minimap can be dangerous however, if you do it too often and an enemy catches you off guard, but the information gains in using it as a tool are very high.

The Map, accessed by default through the "M" key provides all the same information as the minimap but on a scale of the whole map, Using the map locks you in however, so it is much more dangerous to be using, especially when holding an angle.

Another aspect of using the map for information ties into map knowledge,
Knowing how long it takes to move from one area to another is one of, if not the most important part of Game sense, as using it to calculate where an opponent could be based on where and when you last saw them is incredibly useful and even necessary.

In summary:

The first step of game sense is to observe and pay attention to, the information given to you by the game.

Game sense is the application of such knowledge to obtain either more knowledge or to inform your decisions/play.

I started Val January 2022 got bronz and now I am asc. Your videos helped me a lot.
I met my Duo mate in a ranked game and we play every day.
Maybe we can hit immo next year.
One of the important thinks in the game is to learn other agents.
I always get instalock duelist’s in my games, I hate it.
I don’t care as a viper main, but every team should have 1 duelist, 1 flash, 1 info, 1 smoke, and 1 trap. Some combination depends on the map but all in all focus on a balanced team and not 3 duelist.

You can really feel the mood difference between silvers and gold/plats. It is sad and nice at the same time, knowing that your team atleast knows the basics, whats wrong and right, but being toxic for every mistake.

Honestly, if you want to escape any rank, the mental game is 99% of it. I’m plat, but I haven’t gotten mechanically better since silver. The way I got there is playing until I lose, and then quitting for the day. This minimized my losses on bad days, and maximized my wins on good days, and I got to plat while basically being on-par with silvers and low golds. Hope this helps.

Honestly though there are a lot of people in low gold/silver who are really good at teamwork, but then you have their teammates who won’t listen and all that goes down the drain. I’ve seen it happen before, they can ask their teammate to setup a crossfire but instead their teammate will run into the enemy and get killed usually losing a 1v2 scenario…

I still can't get out of Silver 3. I 1: usually frag in the middle (initiator) 2: Use movement 3: Know maps very well 4: Know different good combos on my main agents: Breach and Sova. 5: Don't tilt queue 6: Do 2 deathmatches (in silver remember) 7: Know what every enemy ability does 8: Watch Youtube videos 9: Communicate a lot and ask my teammates for utility 10: Know spike hygiene 11: Call fakes, defaults, rotates, double rotates, etc. 12: Know economy hygiene 13: Aim at head level 14: I can sometimes predict enemies 15: I Retake with allies.
Only things I can notice that I'm trying to fix: Not taking unnecessary fights, transferring more things from deathmatch to comps because usually I win deathmatches and pop off compared to comps where half of the time I forget movement.
