The MOST COMMON question I get in my twitch chat is "Do you have any tips for [insert Rocket League rank here]?" It seems like a ton of you are looking for tips for your specific rank, so this video will be a perfect solution to anyone who could possibly ask for tips for their specific rank. Without looking at your gameplay, it's nearly impossible for me to know what Rocket League tip is most important for you, so in this video, I tried to generalize each Rocket League rank into a few key important and condensed tips that will apply to as many of you as possible. Some of the Rocket League tips may be a little vague but it's left that way on purpose so you can choose how to take them since your gameplay is likely difference from everyone else's. I spent 30+ hours on this video so I hope you enjoy it and/or learn something.

"Just let the fun-ness be the motivation to keep playing when you're bronze." Or silver, or gold, plat, diamond, champ, etc. This game is fun. Don't burn out by tryharding too much.

I'm Diamond and this video has shown me that i am one of those who focused on rotation in plat instead of both mechanics and rotation so now im struggling ranking up cause while i can deal with those with high mecahnics as a defense, i am basically a gold when in offense.

the moment when wayton tells gold 1v1 mains to not practice ceiling shots: *audible uproar*

For GC and SSL. The third key is literally consistency, which is the hardest one yet because with consistency not only you keep your fast thinking mood up but also, you brain will do all the mechanics, rotations, shots and recoveries by "itself"

When you said: "Focus on letting your opponent score less than you." I feel like the best way to practice that is to play a bit of 1s. Because in my opinion, 1s are all about playing defensively and smartly to wait for your opponent to make a mistake for you to score. Also, 1s really taught me how to read what my opponent is gonna do and because of that, I usually am better than my opponents in 2s at that. It's really benificial.

I tell my lower rank friends to use ball cam and they just say, "iT mEsSeS mE up", so then they use car cam and don't listen to me.

I only have about 25 hours in game and am on the verge of getting into Gold and I would say the tip about the back post defense has helped me more than any other. I come from a hockey background so I started playing near post like a hockey goalie before I saw that tip. Changed the game for me. The next best tip my son actually gave me (Im old lol) is to slow it down in some situations. You can sit back and just watch people over play and zoom by the ball. Sit back, defend, wait for a mistake, pounce.

problem with playing with my friends is either their rank is too low compared to mine or too high, resulting in us playing casual together and solo queuing in comp

Can you do something like this for 2v2, because the rotations are very different since you don't have a 3rd player. As someone who prefers 2's of 3's, I would really love to see a video like this, as it would really help me out.

Thanks to you Wayton, I was able to rankup from Silver 2 to GC. My problem was balancing the mechanics and rotations, and also power shots.

After being stuck in Gold III Plat I for more than a year, I watched a lot of content on how to improve. Now I'm not someone who will put in hours of practice but there are two things, that took me all the way to Plat III within days. Defending far post and grabbing pads. I analysed my replays and realised 9/10 goals scored on me were on far post, while I was defending near. As soon as I applied this, I started seeing way lower rates of getting scored on. And then I noticed I was frequently out of boost and often went boost>ball which also meant losing opportunities or getting scored on. So I turned off unlimited boost in freeplay, to reinforce good habits and started doing pad drills as warm ups.
