In the third example how did you get negative value of r that is (-7)? r=sqrt(x^2+y^2) than how can r ever be negative? Please correct me if I am wrong or missing something?

I've missing something here.... from other sources I gather it's something to do with the unit circle..

The video shows that:
cos pi / 3 ==> 1/2

But when I do this with a calculator I get very different numbers. It seems that cos/sin/tan sometimes means different things - and we determine this somehow from the unit circle? I don't really understand why...
