Crispin Glover just nailed the insecure, dorky, yet funny George McFly. One can watch this over and over again.

My cousins and I used to imitate George's laugh to each other constantly.

1:49 George remembers EXACTLY what he was doing in the middle of the street 😂

PAY ATTENTION: When the daughter talks about an Uncle in Prison, Lorraine looks DIRECTLY at George when she says "We all make MISTAKES in life, children". Lorraine feels embarrassed, like a prisoner in her home. She regrets marrying George. She realizes at least with Biff, he pays attention. That once lively girl who "parked" with boys in school, now realizes she is "permanently parked." That memory of the Sea dance is all that remains of that last glimmer of happiness.

I feel emotionally detached like George right now, it's painful to watch how he doesn't even hear what's going on in a conversation, so frustrated that you become numb.

I just realized that the peanut brittle in this scene is referencing the deleted scene where the McFly's neighbors come over and sell them a bunch of girl scout peanut brittle because George can't say no.

Anyone notice how Marty doesn’t say a single word this entire scene? It because the director wanted us to pay attention to this scene because it is very important for the remainder of the movie.

I really like the set design....they did their research, the hand knit blankets over the couch, the vinyl covered seats with floral pattern, the working TV atop an older nonfunctioning TV...looks like a real typical house in the 1980s

2:14 this is why I do not understand the notion that Crispin Glover thinks George and Lorraine don't love eachother until Marty goes back. They are messed up but definitely love eachother.

I remember relating to Marty's sister's line about having an uncle in prison when I was a kid in the 80s, because I had an uncle in prison from '83 - '89.

I never noticed her look after realizing she was gonna spend the rest of her life with him. That’s not joy.

What's significant about this scene in the first Back to the Future movie is that you can't blame Marty for wanting to change his family's future by the end of this movie.

Marty is constantly treated like a loser who doesn't want to end up like his parents as they got older, Marty's dad is always meek as he can't stand up to his supervisor who was also his high school bully, Marty's mom is a depressed alcoholic, and that both of his siblings are professional and social failures.

I remember when lorraine said she didn't like jennifer. But at the end of the movie she loved her. No one. In my family like a girl I dated before the last girl I dated. Who they all want to I miss and love. But yeah one of my axes was a psychopath.

I wish the feud between Crispin Glover and Bob Gale was a fake rumor.
