I love how without the time travel this movie is about a guy being an absolute homie and helps a guy get his crush

This movie simply was way ahead of its time. A classic that never gets old.

In 1985, my mother took me to see this. I was 11. I can't thank her enough.❤

“But your kids are gonna love it”

Best. Time. Travel. Movie. Sentence. Ever.

I guess the two thousand people who disliked aren’t ready for that yet, but their kids are gonna love it.

I love how Marvin just confiscates the guitar back from Marty then looks at it in bewilderment like “how the hell did that come from a guitar”

This film really captured what it might “feel” like to be in the 1950s. Amazing. Obsessed with that era not sure bout y’all.

I remember seeing this in theaters in 1985 as a 7 year old. The theater erupted in applause and cheers when MJF got back up after the kiss and they all came back in the photo. Ah, the magic of movies! There was also lots of laughter when he went nuts shredding on the guitar. Back to the Future is an example of a perfect movie.

I like how Marvin examines the guitar like “what the hell did you do to my guitar man” 😂

I love that Chuck Berry was able to perfectly recreate the song even though he missed the first half.

Fun music fact:

For the people who keep asking how a band could possibly know the back-up instrumentals to a song no one has ever heard before, Marty says to them right before he starts "its a blues riff in B and watch me for the changes". The "blues riff" is a common progression of chords used in blues and jazz songs throughout that particular era that any band would know especially in the 50's, and to basically follow his lead. Johnny B Goode is actually a pretty simple song to play along to if you know the key and the blues riff.

This scene is pure 1980's America in all of it's greatness. Between this and Ferris? It doesn't get better for the 80's.

One of the greatest of all time. No repeats, never done again, Micheal owns this forever.

I love that there’s not really a plot reason for Johnny B Goode, it’s just a victory lap. Movies don’t do that much anymore I feel.

*Marty McFly traveling back to the 50's would be the equivalent to us traveling back to the mid 90's.*

Every time he sings “the vision of your happiness” and Marty pops up, full power, I get goosebumps.

The pacing of this movie is amazing. The part where he says “unless you know someone who plays guitar” and then instantly cuts to him playing is amazing, I feel like other movies would hold on that shot for like 2 seconds and then cut to him playing guitar, but this really give the sense of urgency Marty is under.
