As you mentioned international travel, I recently visited the UAE for a short vacation. On my flight back to the UK, after completing immigration and just before boarding the aircraft, we underwent a hand baggage check. The staff requested both passport and BRP card for passengers.Since the eVisa is an internal UK process ( do correct me if I'm wrong), I am curious how a foreign country can verify a passenger's eVisa when they do not have access to UK systems and must rely on physical documentation. I believe this could complicate matters for everyone involved.

Its ok thanks Cynthia. I got round the problem by using my wife’s login details (as her). It would seem to me the Home Office have failed to test the system properly at excess loads. If this is true, its a very poor way for the UK government to deliver a major new system but does not surprise me.

To be honest, the Home Office should make an official announcement for this and send Email to everyone who has their BRP expiring this 31 Dec 2024

Cynthia I need your help.
This is my mother evisa I have managed to made her evisa account 3 month ago, still we cannot view her evisa. the recent statement that ministers has said people can travel with their expire BRP until 31st March. My question is how would the immigration in other countries would know about evisa as they only knows about brp? Is travelling with expire brp is is allowed?

Hi I have been trying to do my wife’s for days now. 7-8 times I have submitted all the pictures on the app at the end It says ID successful submitted, go back to the website but then if I continue on the phone I get a error message. If I go back to the web browser it still says ID needs confirming before I can move to the next step. I can’t seem to get past this point Iv tried several times. I just keep getting emails from them saying I have updated the mobile number everytime. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it just the systems that are down. If been trying for the past week now.

My husband works in IT and says he would never set up this sort of system without lots of internal testing and practical examples first. Did the Home Office fail to do proper ‘Acceptance Testing’ with ranges of different end users ?

Hello, I have my eVisa but currently only my BRP is connected to my UKVI account. Today, I added my Passport as an identity document, but I received an email that says that the UKVI will take up to two weeks to review this and officially add my Passport as an identity document. Does this extension allow me to travel back to the uk during the holiday period?

I got the eVisa and it is linked to my passport, how are we actually supposed to show it at an airport when we travel? Won't it automatically show up when they scan the passport?

What about us that got the renewal decision in November, and we didn’t get a card because home office stopped producing them. My old brp card expired in November and I have the
Evisa with the new decision, but just in case if there is any glitch on the aeroport and you can’t open the the Evisa can you show them the expired brp that has expired in November, because I’m travelling and coming back in January.

Fair comment but what happens if person has no internet connection or forgets login details while standing at a check in desk. UKVI should clearly instruct everybody to download and take photo of E-Visa before travel then. Did they do that ?
