I would say this is a fantastic kit for someone with a lot of money who wants a beautiful looking aquarium (perhaps in a business space) without having to do very much. Definitely not for someone in the hobby, because you could probably do something similar for a lot less money (obviously with the kit you're paying for convenience) or similar amount of money but nicer equipment.

Are you sure about that; it looks to me exactly like it is particle board covered with a veneer. It most certainly is not solid wood.

I’m in New Zealand. We have a few options for complete options tanks like this one, and I bought an AquaOne AR980 as my first tank. It’s a 215 litre/55 gallon tank as my first tank and it made my first tank in the hobby so much easier. I have several budget tanks that are less complete than that one, but as I learned so much from my first tank and felt able to take them on. The easy to set up tanks like this one do have their place in the hobby. This one looks so much more complete than my first tank, so if money is not an option, it’s brilliant.

Here’s the deal. You can paint your house yourself and save a ton of money. But you have to go to the store, buy the paint and spend you’re valuable time painting for however long it takes you. OR you could pay someone to do it on a weekend and it’s done. That’s the difference here. You’re paying for someone to do the work. I think it’s a wonderful idea. I’d do it in a heartbeat.

I can appreciate the fact that you do need to put food on the table and sponsorships like this help do so. But please don’t sit there blowing smoke up our asses about how this kit makes the hobby more accessible. It doesn’t. Any reasonable beginner isn’t going to drop the dime to get something this extravagant. At best, it might remove barriers for a select group of hobbyists who are into larger rimless tanks. But that’s about it.

For that price you can get a high quality low iron glass rimless tank (ADA, UNS) and an actual name brand filter and a pretty decent light

I can see the advantage of having everything included, it's almost a plug and play system, just add water and fish. I just can't see many people new to the hobby being willing to spend $2, 300 for the convenience.
I'd be interested to know what the terms and conditions were for them sending you this set-up for nothing, was it on the understanding that you would do a YouTube review in return?

I got so excited man, like finally a bare bones tank set that I could afford and start a new tank, *checks the price on the site hoping it would be around $300-$500 specially since they have a discount* ooohhhh yeah I think I'll pass on that $1000
