6 years or over. Debt is settled.

Statute barred. Limitations act 1980 ✅

Please can you help me & advise me.
My dad died suddenly and has debts. He was paying £1.00 a month to these debts. I spoke to them on the phone they said he’d not made a payment since 2006, (and it now being 2024) they said it’s likely now nothing will come of it and to send his death certificate. Does this mean the debt is still statutory barred ?
