Personally, growing up neglected this was something I had to learn later as an adult meaning I had gone through a couple platonic relationships naively thinking that they were trustworthy people. And don’t get me wrong, they weren’t exactly bad people. It’s just I didn’t know how to measure when someone is being genuinely nice and kind versus being nice to take advantage of the other. This was because it was a norm growing up where my family took advantage of me while neglecting me to fend for myself essentially. So this resulted in blurred lines between what being genuinely kind looks and feels like versus someone being nice to take advantage of you.

Experienced all of them. She was only in casual love and I was really commited since the beginning. She just waited and in the end, she humiliated me in a way that it was a nightmare. Worst part? I found out 3 months later she already felt for someone way before our breakup. Never ignore red flags and don't try to ignore your gut.

I just ended my relationship with someone who only casually loved me. This just made me realize that he really does love me❤ we’re always making time to be with each other, when we hangout we talk about anything from funny cat videos, to past traumas, we’ve both said our I love you’s but also realized that we’re neither in a spot to be in an official relationship, so for now we’re in a “romantic friendship”, we’re independent but also have amazing communication, we have privacy but not secrets, we’re both aware of our problems and always working on ourselves and each other, and although we agree on big beliefs, anything we disagree on, we can always find a middle ground on. He truly is amazing, and I couldn’t ask for anyone better❤ I really want things to work out between us, but the 24hr drive is our biggest issue…
