I keep seeing the same arguments pop up over and over, so let me make this clear once and for all. Yes, the English are indigenous. To say we’re not is completely ridiculous when you actually look at the facts.
Genetically, the English are a mixture just like every other indigenous group on Earth. But we’re not some random population thrown together last minute. Our DNA goes all the way back to the Mesolithic and Neolithic people of Britain that includes Cheddar Man, whose genetic lineage still exists in the British population today. After that came the Bell Beaker people, then the Celts, and later the Anglo-Saxons. Most of us are a mix of Celtic and Anglo-Saxon, with a tiny bit of Viking and Norman DNA. That's the genetic story of the English people. It’s not messy or unnatural it’s exactly how nations are formed.
And before someone jumps in with “well if you’re a mix, you’re not a real people” – let me remind you: the Japanese are a mix of the Jomon, Yayoi, and Kofun people. The French are a mix of Gauls, Romans, Franks, and more. Are they not real nations? Are they not indigenous to their land? Of course they are. So why is it only the English who are constantly denied that same status?
In fact, the English probably have more genetic continuity than most modern populations. Studies show that the bulk of our DNA is native to this land and has been here for thousands of years. Saying we’re not indigenous just shows a complete lack of understanding of history, genetics, and how nations actually form.
So no, we’re not just “Germanic migrants” or “a random mix.” We’re a deeply connected people, native to this land, with a culture and history stretching back millennia. And I’m tired of people trying to erase that.

Let’s clear this up once and for all. Yes, I agree Cheddar Man most likely wasn’t black. In fact, I’ve seen genetic breakdowns suggesting he may have had red hair. But that’s not really the point of the video. What I’m doing is busting the myth that was pushed in the mainstream narrative the idea that he had dark skin and therefore should be portrayed as black. That was the claim, and it was repeated widely.
It’s not just speculation either. Cheddar Man was literally used in Black History Month campaigns. He’s even featured in books about black activism. Since when did Mesolithic European hunter-gatherers become part of African or black history? The whole thing was clearly part of a narrative push to imply that modern black populations have ancient roots in Britain, which just isn’t true. This isn’t about denying anything it’s about being honest.
And before people start claiming “no one said he was African, ” let’s not pretend the word “black” used in this context wasn’t intentionally misleading. They weren’t saying “dark-skinned hunter-gatherer” they were implying “sub-Saharan African, ” and that’s exactly how it was taken by the public. That was the narrative, and that’s what I’m calling out. It’s not hard to understand unless you’re being deliberately dishonest.

I'm an Australian, and am descended from English settlers on my father's side. I know that I am English, despite nobody in my family having set foot there for generations, because no matter where whe are born, the English nation lives within its people and descendants. This was well understood and felt here until recent decades. We desperately need a cultural revival in Australia, and to once again remember who we are and where we came from.

And its not like England is just now discovering itself. All of this has been known for hundreds and hundreds of years. Its written every where and every museum I've ever been to in England has passed down the history and knowledge of who the English are. Same for Scottish. Same for the Scandanavian countries. Same for Ireland. Its great they can prove this genetically now with scientific facts.

Lempkin, who coined the term genocide, stated that:

“...a coordinated plan of different actions aiming at the destruction of essential foundations of the life of national groups, with the aim of annihilating the groups themselves.”

Later, the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide narrowed the focus primarily to acts of physical and biological destruction. However, Lemkin’s original articulation did indeed cover what we would now call “cultural genocide, ” encompassing attacks on a group’s heritage, history, and core identity.
