Maybe I’m just being ignorant but letting the weights just snap ur arm back doesn’t seem like it’s that good for longevity either

I can explain that, the rotation is rotator cuff work, the weight drop ones focus on power up and being able to react to ballistic forces on the way down. It’s something that is used a lot right before season start for athletes, because it helps their body prepare for rapid impacts and being able to produce force out of them. Last year my team did this with drop rows. It’s similar to depth jumps but with other movement patterns

Another missing link for longevity that far too many people neglect is mobility and joint health. Traditional bodybuilding and doing so much isolation work creates a lot of stiffness and mobility training can really help with that. And mobility training isnt just passive stretching after a workout

Bruh, he’s not even controlling the negatives on the weighted dips.

That quick jolt and catch build tendon and ligament strength faster than basic strength training. Only issue is you need to either be a complete beginner with fresh joints or highly advanced to mitigate the risk of these movements tearing or rupturing something

Technique consistency is one thing but there are others like load management. If you're going to increase your bench by 100kg/220lbs in just a month you're going to have a bad time regardless of how consistent you are

He’s training muscles that get ignored often in the gym due to their low visibility, like the rotator cuff muscles. It actually is quite useful for longevity by preventing imbalances that might lead to injury down the line

They're training underutilized muscles. It can help prevent injuries. The exercises they chose are awful though.

The guy hopping on one leg is training his hip flexors. Jumping and landing puts strain on the leg that's suspended in the air. The guy rounding his back with dumbbells in hand is training his spinal erectors.

Reverse squats and Jefferson curls are better options to train your hip flexors and spinal erectors.

For the guys saying there are legitimate reasons for his exercises, you do realize that those dont increase longevity in any way right?

Breh I get 8k steps just going outside in the morning to grab my coffee and buy my lunch and after I eat for half an hour walk, it is not difficult, I started doing 30km a day in December and I fell off over the Chinese new year when we went back to the countryside, I averaged 2k steps per day and since we came back I’ve been lazy and only been hitting 10k per day

I mean, sure there are exercises that will help longevity but you don’t need them if you train right.

Wouldn't any form of training already falls under the category of training for longevity? Older people tend to have lower muscle mass so the fact that a person trains to gain muscle already means that they're training for longevity. 🤷🏻
