This one took a lil bit longer than usual to come out while I was focusing on trying new effects and such, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Hopefully you are too! More great content on the way :)

You're only partially right about the people who agreed to an earlier version of the EULA. Whenever the EULA is updated, you are told about it (whether via email or a popup in the launcher) and it always says something along the lines of "by continuing to play minecraft, you agree to the updated EULA". the only people who have a case against the previous EULA are people who have accounts that have remained unused for the last several years.

What's funny is that EULAs are never seen as something that can be held up in court. People think they can just point to it and say "THEY PRESSED THE AGREE BUTTON" but the courts in the United States do not see that as a valid agreement. Seriously, if they put "we can take away your account at any time" in the EULA, they would still be committing fraud by taking away a product/license you paid for, which is illegal in the United States, where Microsoft does a lot of their business. Essentially Microsoft would wind up in court, their EULA would not have a second glance, and they would likely lose to even the worst lawyer.

But I would still recommend migrating if you haven't already. No sense in going through the legal system when you could just click a few buttons and continue enjoying the game.

This is terrible. What about accounts of people who have passed away or who have forgotten their login credentials? The more reign they keep giving Microsoft, the more Minecraft feels like more of a business rather than game.

Mojang literally did a “how bad could I possibly be” moment

Went to log in to Minecraft for the first time in 2 years today and couldn't because I missed the migration window. I created my account back during the original alpha and paid for it on release. As much as I want to play it again, I'm not going to pay for it again. Cya Mojang.

My assumption as to why mojang did this is because people were likely selling the accounts for thousands of dollars, and mojang probably didnt like that too much

6:38 I'm no lawyer, but I took a business law class and I have to agree with you. This does not seem legal... Mojang may have to refund everyone that wasn't able to migrate. That's a lot of money :0

However, this could also be In the EULA so it could be that players technically agreed to this.

If only they didn't require you to create another microsoft account for every alt account you own, and then not letting you ever transfer it

Honestly saw this coming when M$ bought the game. They just want more money, more tracking and more control. Migration is just another step in that process.

Sick, I lost my account when I took a year break. Thanks a lot minecraft, now if i even wanted to play again I'd have to buy it again. Disgusting behavior. How is it even legal for them to say I have to buy the game again.

The biggest issue is people who cannot migrate because they've lost the access to the old email. Not only they can't play on their original account anymore (because unmigrated accounts are locked and cannot play, unless you migrate), now they'll lose their account completely, which will free up their original username, and somebody could potentially take it up before they even have a chance to register it again (paying for the game again). Because in order to complete migration, you need access to the email associated with your account. If you no longer have that access, then anything related to your account safety and security is practically unsolvable. So unfortunately, those people will no longer have an account.

If only someone did a class action lawsuit for this. You think oh it's only 30-40 dollars lost but keep in mind 1000s of people lost their accounts. I lost two. In Canada that's worth 80 dollars.

The way they handled the migration was not the greatest imo. However one thing that still bothers me is how they handled the vanilla cape. Ive been playing minecraft since 2010, purchased july 2011, and redeemed my free windows 10 code back in 2015. However, all these years later when i wanted to migrate my account, I use a different microsoft account as my main so i migrated to that one. No big deal but then after all that had been said and done they tell us about the vanilla cape which i didnt get because i redeemed my windows 10 code, which may i remind you was given to me for free by mojang themselves, on a different account. I guess they didnt track or keep the logs of accounts that got the codes but you would think that those accounts would have fit the criteria immediately.

Hytale might be able to capitalize off of Microsoft killing Minecraft with their "safety updates"

6:20 With Europe’s laws about consumer protection, I’m sure Mojang/Microsoft could have some problems

Yeah for those who do not live in Europe, sorry for you
However we’ve already seen that they Europe laws can completely change the direction of a company, even at the international

I had a break from minecraft for like a year and decided to come back, installed the launcher again.... and I need to buy java to play it... I didn't even know anything about the migration being time limited, like WHY IN THE FUCK I TRIED IT ONCE BUT IT WAS SO FRICKING HARD AND ANNOYING SO I GAVE UP and now I am back and that's just bullshit man

The waiving all rights to sue never works in court. No one will not use something because of some random clause that says that you can't sue them. It'd be taking advantage of consumers.

Mojang in general has ALWAYS had some really bad way of handling their services, accounts and customer service quality.

Their systems have, and it seems to an extent, will always be really buggy, a tangled mess and just unworkable. If you SOMEHOW after one million confusing pages of information get to contact their shitty reply bots and or even manage to get a person to answer, it is mostly just a dead end.

So a suggestion to the viewer: PLEASE keep a good track of your emails and passwords that you're using with them. Fuck up once and you WONT be seeing your account ever again.
