For anyone wondering, he's talking about hackers, not modders/cheaters
Hacker- tries to gain access to unauthorized data (in this case, they are trying to access your computer)

Modder- Somebody who makes modifications
(It's broad, but at least in terms of minecraft, it usually applies to people modifying their game client to give them cheats)

This will make hacking in Minecraft much less prevalent as mojang just added phishing protection so you dont unknowingly run malware on your computer.
As world files are the only things you really download for minecraft, this would make it very difficult to hack somebody through minecraft.

Doesnt fix people downloading cheats that have embedded malware or people stupid enough to run an executable from an unknown source, but it did probably end being able to hack the average person using minecraft.

they just stopped one specific thing. And it broke an actual useful thing - now I can't symlink NBT storages or chunk regions IN THE SAME WORLD without it getting flagged when I send it to someone else

Mojang did not end hackers, there will still be way more exploits that hackers can use, in fact Minecraft's source code has many vulnerabilities that are still not fixed.

I wouldn’t say stopped, id say blocked. A hackers by definition is a person who uses computers to collect unauthorized data. Hackers are always going to exist and their always going to bypass every obstacle in their way
