The 2000 part was left over from 2000-2009 where it made sense, but after 2010 its just twenty <year> so i agree in part

This reminds me of something that I do at work. There's a guy who (for WHATEVER reason) introduced himself as Chris when his name is actually Zach. I now call him Chris. When he asked me "You know that my name isn't Chris, right?" I replied "It is now. It's what you introduced yourself as. I'm autistic, not stupid. You mess with me, I'm going to remember, and I'm going to mess with you back." ... I now have other people calling him Chris. He's really regretting lying to me. 😂

I agree. With my kids birth years I say "04, 06, 08" I'm assuming people won't get confused thinking I mean 1904. 😅

Here’s another one: When people say they are going to reach out, as in, “I’ll reach out to the IT Department and report my computer problem.” NO. You are going to CONTACT them or CALL, reaching out is for religious statements: Reach out to the Lord. Or more extreme events: Reach out to the new widow. 😡

1. In Spanish we say the complete number, so it really helps Hispanics learning the language to say it that way.

2. Language changes with its speakers. You like it or not, if that's how this generation likes to call it, so be it 🤷🏽‍♀️. My students prefer twenty twenty-one just because it's shorter 😂
