Fix computer turns on but no display on monitor

Nothing is showing on the computer display after turning on my computer. The computer's LED lights are on. The cooling fans of the computer turn on. But the display of the monitor does not show anything. And my monitor is completely OK. Disconnect the power to the computer. Remove the cover on the left side of the CPU. Now remove the RAM from the computer motherboard. Now clean the computer's RAM with any eraser. After clearing the computer's RAM key, reinstall it on the motherboard. Then connect the monitor and the CPU's power. Now turn on the computer

Thank you for this, friend. For anyone else in a similar situation, my pc, only 3 months old, had a crash and then went into an inescapable boot menu. Powering off and on again produced no video out of any of the gpu ports across multiple monitors/tvs. Disconnecting and cleaning the RAM got things back to normal. Just pay attention to the orientation of your RAM sticks, ha!

So this didn’t work with my ram but my graphics card!! This is an amazing idea and once I did it to the graphics card and got all the dirt and stuff off of it. It’s been working wonderfully

Hey guys. My pc screen is not showing anything. I tried changing the hdmi cable, but it didn't work. I also tried the dvi cable, but that didn't work either. Sometimes the screen turns on. I played a game before and everything worked fine. Then I left the pc to download some resources. When I turned on the monitor, it showed a green screen. Since then, the gpu is not detecting the hdmi or dvi. If anyone has a solution for this, please let me know. (gpu rx570)??

my gpu was the problem and so I cleaned it just like your ram sticks but with rubbing alcohol instead. can't believe that worked. thank you so much for saving me a headache!

I just want to say I thought it was a bigger problem but THIS IS THE SOLUTION lmao. It totally worked and saved me hundreds of dollars of trying to find out the problem and maybe buying new parts. My computer was lagging occationally and then blue screen. With going on to Chrome and watching Youtube the quickest to crash. And it got worse and the screen wont even turn on one day. After some tests I feel like it's either the GPU or Memory. Then after trying this method by just cleaning it. You'd think oh the RAM doesn't look dirty it doesn't need cleaning, IT DOES. All lkinds of black stuff I rubbed off with an eraser and IT HAS NOT CRASHED EVER SINCE. Thank you so much.
