Very accurate comments and great advice. I’m Irish and enjoy visiting Dublin with friends from overseas. Thanks.

Take a trip on the DART train to Howth, Malahide, Dun Laoghaire, Bray... you can even do tour trips to Wicklow 30 - 40 mins, Emerald Park and Newgrange all within an hr of the city..

Mistakes:

- Not trying different foods. Dublin Coddle, Guinness, Lamb Stew, Colcannon, Champ, salmon, all sorts of delightful foods!
- Not exploring outside the city centre. There are delightful places nearby, great for day trips like Knowth, Malahide, the Boyne Valley, Powerscourt Falls/Powerscourt Gardens.
- Not visiting Phoenix Park - a delightful green area to get away from the city noise!
- Not finding unique places to stay. Hotels aren't the only options! B&Bs, Hostels (yes, some do have private rooms), Self-Catering. Some are harder to get in Dublin city itself, but there are always options.
- Spending too long in Dublin - Dublin is delightful, but it's a city, and all cities have a sameness. Go out into the suburbs and countryside for the real Ireland.

Thank you for including Kilmainham Jail. My grandfather spent time there as part of the Easter Rising, and my cousins still live in nearby Inchicore.

Howth harbour is another place that I would suggest to get out of the city center. Only a train ride away and it's a beautiful place to walk around right on the coast.

One thing I liked was the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl. It's cheap, funny, goes to a lot of non-touristy pubs.
DART, Luas, Bus Eireann and Iarnrod Eireann (Irish Rail) are worth learning about. Driving in Ireland off the few motorways can be hair-raising, unless you're up for the challenge, but there's things you can only see by car.
Jameson is OK, but I like Slane and Tullamore better.

Definitely true about the layers. Lived in Ireland my whole life and we ourselves can’t guess half the time if any particular day is t-shirt or coat weather 😂

When we visited a few years ago, we went to the National Botanic Garden and loved it. It was lovely and a great place to visit for gardeners especially.

Thank you so much for your Ireland travel videos! I’d love to see you do a live video soon. Also as somebody who is hoping to work in Ireland with a visa these are extremely helpful.

If you are back in Ireland again, Good Sir, go to county Wexford. Deep down in the (Sometimes) Sunny South East, there is the Hook Lighthouse. One if the oldest working lighthouses in the world, the rugged rockland it stands upon is fantastic scenery to visit, explore.

One place to visit if you’re a music lover is the Irish Music Museum. Literally a stones throw from the Temple Bar Pub. Book in advance as it’s a guided tour and it’s also a working recording studio.

For tourists going to Dublin make sure to enjoy the local sports while there. Definitely go to a League of Ireland match. There are a few teams in Dublin that will be playing from now until fall so go enjoy some local football/soccer while there! (UP THE BOHS 🔴⚫️)

I went to Ireland (Dublin) in 2011. Stayed at the Jury's Inn Christchurch. Took the day tours with Paddy Tours. Belfast, Giants Causeway etc. Had a grand time. Upon leaving ... train to Belfast, ferry to Scotland.

You can do shopping experiences in Dundrum shopping centre. Get the green line luas there. There's also Blanchardstown and Liffey valley. You can also get the e1, e2 or 39a bus to UCD. It's a college with really cheap food and it's nice to walk around 😊
