I have had great success in using Natural lambs wool. Firstly I collected it from a local farm and then worked into kind of of felt and use this to grow the seeds to great effect I’ve also tried using A piece of real wool fabric woven which again works well. Sheep‘s wool seems to give the right amount of air and moisture for growing in the south of England latest indoors .

I have a clear plastic container, originally from the grocery store to hold seeds, with a paper towel on the bottom. Right now, they are a month in and are tiny green bulbs. I left the top on it so the moisture and humidity are good. They seem to like it so far.

I like your method of soft side velcro. For myself My two favorite methods of germination for airplant and bromeliad seeds are to use loofah gourd sponge. Its a Very good method. And I also use volcanic scoria rock sitting in humidity tray. I just place the seeds on top rock and the rock wicks moisture up to surface.

I've had great success following your tips in this video, thank you. My airplant babies were started in the same way as yours last March but, to avoid them all going mouldy, I carefully transferred them to a plastic takeaway container containing fine gravel in October, keeping them misted when looking dry, but not wet. They are about 2 - 3 mm with 4 or 5 leaves and looking great. It's been such fun, hoping I can keep them going!

This is a wonderful video, thank you. I was wondering about felt materials. The comment about lambs wools is well on the same line. This is going to be fun

Hello, I was able to take a piece of "blossom" or seeds from a botanical garden in Switzerland. I put them on Hygrolon which are permanently moist but not wet. In addition, I have it here in Germany right now. Winter is under "plant light" - now the first green leaves are showing which are only 1-2mm in size. I was desperately looking online for how to deal with it. My tillandsias are all like my phalaenopsis and bromeliads - tied to wood / partly with moss. Now I know thanks to you that I can just leave them there until they're bigger. Thank you very much. I hope it goes well.

Do you think growing the airplant seedlings the green scrubbing side of a sponge would work?

Thank you for a clear interesting video. Do you move the plants off the velcro when they are ready? How and when do you do this without damaging the roots?

Thank you! Clearly said. Found a huge clump of seeds out on a walk and was curious how to sprout them

Great tips! I recently won some seeds from an air plant company, and have been a little nervous to get started with them. Was going to go the sphagnum moss route, so I'm glad I found your video first. When soaking the seeds, you keep them in water for the entire 3 weeks?

Hello!
I am very grateful for your video & attempting to follow your method! One question I have is, once you transfer the little guys - no easy task I might add for some of us elder folx!🙃! sooo super tiny!!! - what kind of light requirements should be adhered to at this point?!?
Thank you very much for your, knowledge, wisdom, & willingness to share~~~
All the best,

Our air plant just released seeds and we came across your video! At the first stage do you leave the container covered with holes or uncovered?

I have so many questions to ask you do you feel that you like a nylon or polyester? I have some great ideas.

wow! I can learn a lot from this! I definitely want to try that too! Has anyone seen seeds of Tillandsia usneoides? Here it has little green flowers at the moment . It's just to know if they are self-pollinating and would therefore get seed. Greetings from Belgium !
