I am very reluctant to soaking my fuzzy Xeric Tillandsia's as opposed to dunking them quickly in my aquarium once a week because in fear of rotting. I live on the humid Northeast Coast. There is so much conflicting advice on air plants online. Some say soak for 20 to 30 minutes, others say soak for 1 to 2 hours, other say if you live in a humid environment give them water every two weeks. It's very confusing. All I can say is through trial and error I have lost many air plants over the years but my survival rate has improved tremendously.

I have the little guy at the bottom of 0:59. Is it better to soak them than to mist? I got mine at Lowe’s. It was in a little polar bear statue that had broken. I had gotten one last year, but I didn’t know how to care for it and it died. Now I see that misting might not have been enough. I’m excited to try this when I get home from work. I’ve heard that fish tank water might also be good. Any feedback on that? Or is straight tap water best? Great video!

are there any methods that involve for instance covering the bottom of the plant in some cloth that's constantly kept wet?
