Hummus with Msabaha - Mediterranean Classics

Hummus is one of the most famous Mediterranean dishes. I love it, make it very often and serve it in so many ways... Homemade hummus is so much better than storebought one, and it's so easy to do!

Classic hummus ingredients (as in video):
- 2 cans chickpeas
- 1 jar (400 g) raw tahini
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground chipotle (optional)
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 3/4 tsp garlic powder
- Sumak (ground) and olive oil for serving
Msabaha
- 3-4 tbsp whole chickpeas
- 2 jalapenos, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup loosely packed fresh coriander, chopped
- juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt & black pepper to taste
Sauteed mushrooms
- 1 box (250g) swiss mushrooms
- 1 large onion
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- salt & black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Heat oil in the large pan, add onion and fry till translucent and lightly golden. Add spices and mushrooms, lower the heat to medium and cook until soft and fragrant.
