How to Fix System Idle Process High CPU Usage [Solution]

In Windows, the System Idle Process task contains one or more kernel threads which execute when there are no runnable tasks in the system. When you see the idle process running, it means that there were no other tasks available for the computer to schedule; hence it calls and executes this task.

Is your computer keep stalling or freezing because of 99% CPU usage? It may be happening because of some particular application is consuming a huge chuck of the processing power in the background. After receiving recent updates, many users are accusing System Idle Process as the main culprit for this problem. System Idle Process runs on your CPU thread when no other task is running. It usually has a lower priority and should consume a lot less amount of CPU power of your system. But due to some bugs it is behaving abnormally. Attempt these fixes on your computer and the problem should be fixed in no time.

it only helped me for a few days and maybe one or two restarts. Then the 10-15% system load came back. SysMain is still deactivated :-(

Thank you so much. My laptop fan was working continually before I went with your steps. Now it is completely rectified. Does the fan work perfectly? even though I did this step right

I have an interesting dilemma where my PC runs pretty smooth with 0% cpu, disk, and gpu. After 10 minutes my cpu ramps up to 10% and stays like that forever. I checked if I had any applications or viruses causing this but it's just the system itself. I checked network statuses to see if anyone was connected but there's no indication. What is it? I am a bit overly peculiar about how my system runs.

The System Idle Process is, as the name suggests, just a measure of how much free processor time your computer currently has. So, if System Idle Process is taking up 99 percent of your CPU's time, this means that your CPU is only using one percent of its processing capability to run actual tasks. so no need to doeny thing about it

If this is a "solution" as you call it, why do I have to restart "to see" if it resolved the problem. If it was a solution then i Would not have "to see" besides, just the restarting is likely to resolve what ever is using the resources.
Plus . . nothing should ever be disabled unless you know its function.
