WOW! I’ve been through this before in one job. My manager (female) I believe thought that I was a threat to her job. Everything was fine, until one big project came along, my boss couldn’t attend the planning meeting and told me to meet with them and take care of what they needed. Well, I did…. And the “customer” (who were members of another team in the division, were thrilled… so much so that they sent emails to the Vice President about how I not only met, but exceeded their expectations and gave them a tool that would help streamline a business process. After that, she didn’t miss a chance to say something toxic to me when no one was around (her favorite line was “a woman could do this job better”). Then she managed to turn a higher manager against me…. After that, I knew it was time to go.

Your video brought me so much hope & inspiration Stefanie. I just got fired from the most toxic workplace where I was being harrassed, and set up for failure by my sinister female boss. In the end she succeeded at pushing me out & sabotaging me. I realize now that its for the best also a complete blessing. You are so beautiful & i have no doubt she was seething with jealousy. You nailed it! And you are not wrong! I am an older woman planning to retire in six months but I hadn’t formally announced my intention. I’ve been working as a federal government contractor for 25 years and have had my fair share of comparative experience between having a female boss and a male boss. By far the women are intimidated by my level of confidence and my abilities and feel threatened. Unfortunately I am always at the end of the stick and I’m forced to leave, as I am right now. No one seems to understand these dynamics when one is previously a stellar performer and within one month of being under the new female boss everything is wrong. Even though it was said to me several times there are known issues with this woman, since she is federal government, and you know you can’t fire someone in the federal government, nothing was going to change. I was clearly set up to fail not succeed and that was done by a female who actually held the position they put me in working for the other female! Not sure what it is about my persona but I have very few female friends and a lot of male friends. Female friends always stab me in the back.

My daughter's boss wanted the work crew to use "a safe word" if she was getting out of control yelling. The boss got walked by HR the other day. Leave safe words for the bedroom, not work.

Copy and paste and you nearly have my story. She was terrible to me. She direct hired me to take over her job so she could focus on her promotion. As things got harder for her they got easier for me and she started missing the job she'd had. All the same tactics, over working, impossible deadlines, etc. I met every challenge and never gave her an inch... then I found out I was pregnant. Even worse, SHE found out. Having never had children this triggered something emotional inside her and without a thought, she fired me publically in front of the entire staff. At will work state she could have fired me at any time for any reason but she didn't want to look petty. That blew up in her face.

I feel sorry for her as a person, but she deserved the scrutiny as a boss.
