There seems to be lots of hate for the fact that it's Pycelle narrating this. I'm not sure why. Aren't maester's educates for years in name areas; including the history of the kingdoms? Plus, Pycelle is often called upon to recite historical precedents during the show. He's a quality character and seems like a reasonable choice for narrator here.

Oh, if only, Pycelle. If only... >;) Now Daenerys has come and the Seven Kingdoms are exactly what you said they wouldn't be: a chaotic mess, Houses fighting Houses, no union of the realm and thus no unified defense against the Dragons. And most importantly, no Tywin Lannister. :D Oh, part of me laments you could not live long enough to witness this!

He's right about the last bit, something the show never got right. Dragons can be killed, when they are stuck on the ground or by a lucky shot.

A chapter about dragons narrated by Pycelle. This is beyond despicable! Why?! Varys would have been a better choice.

Good Narration but Varys would be the better option since seasons 5 to 7 He's been supporting the Targaryen restoration with King Aegon VI (Jon Snow) around the wall Castle Black to Moat Calin via Winterfell and Daenerys in Dragonstone and essos

They didn’t hatch them my dear maester. It is likely the people of The Shadow taught the humble shepherds that power. But the Valyrians were an empire that arguably was worse than Old Ghis. Perhaps the fourteen flames causing a great cataclysm that lead to the doom was the Shadow people punishing the Valyrians.
