How Does Social Security Disability Back Pay Work?

I became disabled in 2008. Filed right away, and after 9 years of fighting for it.. I dropped the atty I had and applied on my own.. Got approved in 2019.. for SSI.(Due to several disabilities) that is what it says on my SS paperwork. They said because they only go back 10 years for work credits, I then didn’t qualify for disability 😮Then they paid the atty. I DID NOT HAVE!! I think the atty I had did not do anything at all. I believe I should have been awarded the disability from the start..! In my mind, I am owed a lot of $$ I should have gotten but didn’t due to an incompetent atty !!

my SSDI letter are entitled to monthy disabiity benefits beginning August.then it says we found that you became disabled under our rules on January 2016 it says nothing about back.were can i get help to undersand this cuz i think i need an appeal

What happens to the back pay of the disabled passed away. Is the estate still entitle to that money?

I did paperwork proof I'm in pain I did over the phone interview I dk what more they want I went to 2 doctor's appointment 3 months ago and going to a 3 rd one next month what more proof do they need I told them the truth

Okay. They dragged mine out from December 2009. So the back pay would come for June 2010 and beyond?

I'm getting 2 months of back pay or my lawyers getting it. I'm on SSI. I have letters saying I'm getting $720 a month and $794. I'm so confused. I recently got a check of $754 when it's an odd amount and given in the third week of the month. I filed almost 5 years ago and the judge changed my onset date to July of 21 meaning I got screwed out thousands of dollars. I am livid

I got approved on December 2018 after 10 years and many appeals....
My first SSDI payment was on April of this year. Two of my minor sons also received their back payment checks, two weeks ago. But have not received my back pay neither my other minor child... What could this be? Thanks for your feedback

I got all my stuff wrong and SSI doesn’t help you either and I was cheated out of 2 years back pay. Can I do something about that?

If I originally got a lawyer to help with the process but due to covid I ended up doing everything myself now I got approve and owe him can appeal is it the right thing to do?
