Woman Survives Vicious River Otter Attack

A Montana woman is lucky to be alive after surviving a river otter attack. Jen Royce says she and her friends were tubing down the Jefferson River when they came upon the vicious critter. She says the otter bit her face, ears, arms and other body parts. The attack went on for five agonizing minutes before Royce and her friends were able to swim to shore. Royce was air-lifted to the hospital where she received hundreds of stitches all over her body.

No matter how cute an animal is, if it attacks don't hesitate to defend yourself in any way. No shame in that. On the other side always keep enough distance to wild animals.

Frankly, you would attack if someone invaded your home, and swimming in the river is invading the otter's home (even if it is unintentional).
