I had this very same problem. I took my car to 2 different mechanics and they both wanted $800-$1000 to tear out the dash and install a new heater core. Watched your video and 30 min later unclogged the drain tube no problem. Thanks!

Blowing tubes out with water pressure or compressed air works. However, I have also found that you can use a length of weed/yard trimmer line to run through tubing works too. I use .080 or .095 and it works perfect especially in the sunroof application.

Happy Birthday, Scotty!
I bought a brand new '94 Chevy S10 pickup off the lot. It was a 4 cyl, 5spd, red, xt cab, got a lot of nice compliments on the looks of the vehicle... but it may as well been painted yellow, because I had nothing but problems. I moved to FL in '95, and one day I hop in, push in the clutch... and my foot was soaking wet. It was under warranty and I took it in. They had to COMPLETELY tear out all the seats, carpet, matting... down to the paint... and then had to do it AGAIN, as they did not find the leak the first time. It was leaking through seals around the windows. Numerous other issues, including a tie rod... the mechanic told me I could have had an accident on the way to the dealership.
My father and brother retired from GM. They loved their Blazers and pickups. Going forward, I will not be counted among them, unfortunately.

First of all, happy birthday, Scotty! You are a gifted teacher and are much appreciated. I'll try your pointers and see if I can find out where the water is coming from. Thank you.

I had no idea about the drain holes in the sun roof. Thanks for the tip.
Wish I'd known it 8 years ago... it seems so obvious now.

I spent many years as an Auto Glass mechanic and we also did wind & water leaks. Here’s how you fix and keep those sunroofs from leaking. 1 if it’s already leaking, get underneath the car and you’ll find it should have a scupper or spider trap ( flat piece of thin rubber on the end of each hose ) ) that lets water out but keeps spiders and bugs from crawling in, open that scupper up and you’ll find its full of grease and grime from the sunroof tracks. Just clear that out with the pointed end of a tie wrap ( nothing metal and pointed sharp end ) then fill up a small container ( measuring cup ) with hot water and slowly pour the water down that hole Scotty showed you. After a few minutes if it’s still clogged you may need to cut the scupper off but don’t do that if you don’t have to.
2 To keep from ever having to go through all that crap, just pour some hot water down each drain hole once a month and they’ll never clog in the first place.

Happy birthday!
Whenever my truck goes through heavy rain when driven or parked a puddle forms in the passenger footwell. Now I know where to look for the leak. This was an immensely helpful video!

Scotty, remember you cannot retire from something you have to retire to something! Stay active and don't take out that rocking chair yet. Happy Birthday!

Scotty, you forgot two. 1) I had a friend with a Buick that had recently had a new windshield. The installer, who was in a very dry area of the country did not properly seal the windsheild.
When my friend brought the car to Florida, that thing leaked like a sieve when it rained!

2) I've had people come to me and report "water" in the car (usually the passenger footwell). They can't see that it's green because it soaks into the carpet. All they know is that it's wet and they assume it's water. As soon as I open the door I can smell the coolant and I can give them the bad news without even lifting a screwhammer.

Other than that, great video as always! You are a YouTube treasure, man. Happy Birthday! :)

Terrific run down of multiple reasons for water leaks & sloshing ! (Most of the videos out there will focus on one or two, to the exclusion of other possible causes. )
