Laptop Ribbon Cable Clip - FFC/FPC connector

This is how I secured the zero insertion force (ZIF) clip for the ribbon cable to the power button on my Lenovo G50-45 laptop. It has a similar clip for the touchpad (mouse). Figuring this out took me longer than it should have, hence this video. This part is also known as FFC connector or FPC connector. Digikey or AliExpress might have these if you lose or break one. If you have success buying one and it fits please comment!

That first part is what i need a close-up on. I lost that retaining clip but found a spare off an old motherboard. Fitting it is the damndest thing to do. you make it look easy, but at least show its possible. Thanks.

You saved my arse!! I didn't know what it is at first so I just pulled it out as I do so on desktop. It got broken and I had no idea to reconnect keyboard. With your video shwoing it is technically tiny hinge, I could fix it with my broken connector. Luckily mine was broken on only one hinge side so It worked perfectly!.

i just take off the cable, but when i reinstall it (same as ur video), touchpad not working .. arhhh somebody help !!!!
