Thanks for the vid! I haven't worked with electronics for a couple of decades, and am disassembling a PS3 for the first time. These tiny ribbons made me really nervous... but I had no idea the black part flipped up, lol! It seems so easy now :)

OMG i couldn't thank you enough, i was freaking out. One of that ribbon switch was Only Hdd socket to mobo connector my laptop had.

edit: i was putting Wire reversed, after watching this video i knew what i was doing wrong, i gave up before i assumed i had damaged it.

Watching this video because while trying to clean a overheating laptop, i broke off the end of the connector. Does anyone know that if i buy a new keyboard, it will come with the connector or just comes with the ribbon? TIA.

I disconnected and reconnected my HDD's, and now it isn't detecting it. Cable doesn't seem broken though, and I checked it with a voltimeter and current flows from one side to the other. What could the problem be? Can the cable be broken and still pass current from one side to the other?

How do I put them back in to reattached a laptop keyboard. There are three I have to reattach. 1 big and 2 small. They are in different directions and it's very difficult to push the ribbons in and close the tabs
