Their strappetes are moving this pack to much higher level of comfort. I am using it for more than year now and for me is this bag game changer. I love it so much.

I haven’t heard “snivel” gear in a long time. Brings me back to the Army days

I feel like a double shoulder suspender type sysytem would be best for that pack. Especially with the amount of possible weight that could be loaded with. With that said, looks like an awesome day pack, or even a two day pack. Also, how padded was the front strap that goes around the front of the belt? Could use some minimalistic padding. Just my opinion.

I am glad that you had good luck. I didn't make it 100 feet before I wrote it off. I thought that was a little hasty so I went for about a tenth of a mile and it didn't get any better. I like the idea of a lumbar pack because, as you said, it can keep your back dry on short hikes. It could be that because I am short, 5'2" I don't have a big enough back but even after cinching the pack to my back the pack still pulled away from my back and was very uncomfortable. If there were 2 shoulder straps that could help distribute the weight better I might like it better. I will have to try it as a camera bag instead of a hiking pack.

I have the pack. I use it for a work backpack with binders and notebooks.

I wouldn't recommend it for that.
Hiking, I haven't it used it for that.

Good video. You should buy the (Mountainsmith Strapettes) for the pack instead of using the single strap and switching it all the time.

I just tried out the day with the strappettes and it's pretty comfy. ❤

Can you attach folded hiking sticks to it and comfortably walk for a bit?

I find wothout the strappettes you have to keep the belt above the belly button. And keep the pack 8n the small of your back.
