Wilhelm Mohnke was a German military officer who served in the Waffen-SS during World War II. Born on March 15, 1911, in Lübeck, Germany, Mohnke joined the Nazi Party in 1931 and the SS in 1934. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a commissioned officer.

Mohnke is most notably associated with his role in the Battle of Berlin during the closing days of World War II. In April 1945, as the Allies advanced on Berlin, Mohnke was appointed by Adolf Hitler to command the Berlin Defense Area. He played a key role in organizing the city's defenses against the Soviet forces.

After the war, Wilhelm Mohnke was captured by Allied forces. He faced trial for war crimes but was not convicted. Instead, he spent several years in British captivity before being released. Mohnke lived in relative obscurity after his release and died on August 6, 2001, in Damp, Germany.

Charlemegne SS were some of the last units fighting to protect the fuhrer Bunker, even though all hope was lost. There was never any collapse of the German army. Units from all over the world fought together

Every country must know, accept and assume its own history. Real history and not modification of governments or politicians...

He only commanded the government quarter in Berlin. General Weidling was the last military commander of Berlin. His top rank was only a Brigadefuhrer and he only commanded the whole LSSAH division from Dec 1944 until 6 Feb, 1945.
