Wilhelm is still to this day not buried he is in his home in the netherlands in a small house in his backyard and if you peak from the windows yu can see his coffin with the german imperial war flag on the coffin as he said that he will only be buried when his family retake the throne of Germany and the kaisers return

Wilhem was no saint, but I HATE how some productions, even German ones, portray him as someone as caricaturally evil as the Austrian painter. Wilhem was as responsible for the First World War as the other countries that participated in it, not to mention he tried at first to avoid the war

I really reccomend the movie "the Exception", about Wilhem II's relationship with the third Reich during his last years of life. Christopher Plummer makes an amazing job humanizing the character

Respect for Wilhelm skyrocketed immensely, although I already knew this, hearing it again is refreshing.
Wilhelm evoked the traditional preußisch medieval knighthood, while Hitler evokes pure raw machinery.

Keep in mind that by that time the concentration camps were still unknown and if Wilhelm was disgusted by the racist policies of the Reich then, one can only imagine how devastated and angry he would have been at the fact that millions of Jewish citizens of Germany were physically exterminated. Wilhelm himself was a little anti-Semitic, but this never turned into a coherent state policy - he simply did not like Jews, but recognized their right to live in Germany and respected their contribution to the development of the country.

Wilhelm, also only commended Hitler's military in hopes that Hitler would put him or his son back on the German throne... when it became obvious he wouldn't he condemned Hitler, that's one thing about Kaiser Wilhelm, he drastically wanted to be back on the throne of Germany even going as far as to put in his will that he wouldn't be buried unless he's buried in Berlin and the House of Hohenzollern was back on the German Throne... which was respected you can go see his casket in his old manor with a Prussian flag draped over it waiting for Germany to return to a Monarchy

Despite Wilhem flaws and mistakes, he was more human than Hitler and he was right to be disgusted with Hitler and everything he stood for.

Wilhelm was willing to accept Hitler at first when he thought that the Nazis were going to bring back the monarchy. When it became clear that wouldn’t happen, that’s when he became super critical.
