Thank you, Sensei!!! These classes have been _very_ effective, so far. I'm on my third day of training - day 1 I did lessons 1 and 2 back to back, day 2 I did lessons 2 and 3 back to back, and today I did lesson 3 this morning and lessons 1 and 4 tonight; I know, I'm pushing my body pretty hard, especially in addition to my job, but I'm enjoying the challenge and the increase in athleticism is already palpable.

Day 3 - Learned a lot this lesson. Starting off with some cardio! My feet no longer feel awkward; now, I can move forward, backward, or off-line comfortably. Combining moves into drills is becoming a lot easier, and I'm finding that flowing between them is beginning to feel natural; I'm pushing this by adding more moves (offense and defense) in succession. The Self Defense drills taught me a lot, and I've altered the grapple from the high block into two variations: the cross, like you taught, and a takedown where I pull them _past_ me while tripping them with my other leg. [If they have a belt you can grab, you can throw them and/or flip them onto their backs.]

Anything that I _could_ use a chair or other object to help balance... I'm not lol Just gonna skip the training wheels; why practice it wrong? As you said, better balance, anyways. *"Practice makes permanent."* I've been doing the standing stretch where you hold your foot behind you for a few years thanks to yoga, and I tend to combine it with touching my toes; I like to hold the knee on my standing leg and really get the leg I'm holding up, get my body flat and get a good stretch - it wasn't until I was doing it tonight during this lesson that I realized something: *I've been training roundhouse kicks with this stretch.* Sure enough, I let go of my foot and voila, I'm in the stance ready for a roundhouse; this time, with my leg much higher and my body in a straight line. A lot of this stuff is becoming intuitive.

Still no full splits, but getting deeper. I thought about Jayden Smith in the Karate Kid reboot in how he practiced his splits, so I've stopped using my hands at all and am just letting gravity help push my hips towards the ground. I've also come to the realization that I'm more comfortable as a southpaw; I never would have thought that, as I do everything else in life right-handed, but there it is. Switching stances feels good, and I'm enjoying the fact that I'm working on improving my ambidexterity.

Teacher Adam: Warm ups
Me: I'm dying😂

It's because I'm asthmatic so I'm physically weak, but as I continue taking these classes, I definitely feel stronger💪😎

Thanks so much Sensei, God bless you 🥰👌✨

ooh! another Idea! let's say the opponent throws a kick, and you use the low block to counter it.Yes, you said it would be good to do a snap kick after, but the also will leave a lot of power in the hand that you didn't use for the low block, meaning you could do a fierce uppercut as another counter. Again, this might be a bad Idea, but I'm just throwing out ideas

I can tell just how experienced you are as a teacher, you have so much good feedback even when you can't see what we're doing! You definitely deserve your black belt! 😉
Just the annoying thing is doing those pivots and stance switches right really depends on your floor and feet. You must have a slick floor and dry feet because I was trying to do this on tile with sweaty feet and I could barely move 😅 I tried anyway!
