I don't put it directly on my pets because my vet is highly allergic. But, I do use cedarwood oil diluted with water in a gallon size sprayer. (50ish drops per gallon) and spray my yard twice a year. It has really helped with the flea problems. When we were infested a few years ago I also added 10ish drops to the mop water and used a small spray bottle of diluted on all the area rugs and furniture. No need for the other oils in my opinion. Just make sure you get pure cedarwood oil, the ones that have additives can be very toxic to pets.

This worked GREAT on our cats!!! I'm so happy we don't need to choose between putting toxic dangerous chemicals on them or else let them suffer from fleas! Plus it makes the whole house smell nice.

I didn't see any "other key ingredients" as mentioned in the description.

I decided to mix Dawn dish detergent with apple cider vinegar and water. I sprayed my yard with the cedar peppermint oil.

Peppermint, essential oil is metabolized by the liver when applying topically or internally AND is very toxic to dogs and cats. It can interact with some medication and is a hot oil (it burns to the touch) therefore much caution is needed.
Hopefully you’re using a PET 1 plastic bottle (the bottom of bottle says). Otherwise, essential oils could break down some of the plastic chemicals from that bottle and leach into your mixture. (Same goes for metals).
Importantly, you should always use an emulsifier. Emulsifiers help oil and water mix so oils don’t stay at the top of the water (ex: aloe vera oil, Castile soap, lotions, alcohol, vitamin E)
Essential oils have a shelf life and so do your water mixtures.
After a few weeks it can go rancid and grow bacteria. Distilled water can reduce bacteria.

I have noticed that my cat has all these bumps and it looks like a rash or something. Very scaly. And after a few weeks of treating him and it not getting better - I just saw a flee! Not used to it because I lived in a place before with no fleas before! So now I know what's "bugging" him and of course I'm so happy to find this natural remedy for him. It answers my questions after perusing the internet and finding out that full strength essential oils are not good - for a cat. Also I wonder if I should treat him outside for when the fleas get hit and jump off. Thank you so much!

Hi my cat has a bad case of flea dirt falling off her on everything she sleeps on. I made this solution today. I dipped a cotton ball in the solution a applied it from her shoulder blades to her the base of her tail. Then put some on her brush and applied it to her underside. She already feels happy and friendly about it. I'll update yall soon.

A glass bottle with a metal top is better. The oils are known to react with plastics.

It is ok to use Lavender essential oil instead of peppermint and cedar for cats. Spraying peppermint/cedar oil around your home will make fleas and rodents flee :) Thanks for the video!

I can not imagine my ferrets would be to thankful if I were to apply peppermint oil to their skin diluted or otherwise.

I just took some allowvera, and used a 1/8 ratio of Oil and Water. I sprayed a 1/64 and fleas were not too happy so I upped it a tad bit.

Cedarwood Essential Oil needs to be used with a carrier oil like grapeseed oil or sweet almond before using on your dog and can also be toxic for some cats.
