I'm a Katrina survivor - my suggestion for all those impacted = MOVE AWAY to higher ground, this will only happen again in the future.

I want to thank the thousands of linemen who came from all over the country to restore power to our communities. Their hard work has helped us begin returning to normal life. Being days and days without power is really stressful. Thank you, linemen of America! ❤️

Stop building on the beach. It's costing us all a fortune for you to rebuild.

"I honestly don’t know where to begin. The hurricane wiped out almost everything I had. My house is barely standing, and I don’t even know if my insurance will cover it all. My family and I are safe, but... how do you start rebuilding from this?

The news of the quick restoration of electricity to the majority of 2.4 million people so quickly is a major achievement by the first response planners!!!

Exactly how much beach was eroded by the storm at this spot the man is standing? Inches, feet, yards? Don't just say 'the beach is shorter.'

Mangroves were taken out, barrier islands destroyed, canals dug, all by developers who destroyed the eco. System of Fl. This is what happens.

Yes sand moves on a barrier Island. That's why no one should be building there. I used to live right there on that island. And those bottom Florida houses meant to break away it's not even framed up right those are blowout walls.

Like others have said, bring the mangrove trees back, a whole lot more protective than boulders

It’s only going to get worse.. the Caribbean has been experiencing the same thing too. Category 5 Beryl earlier this year. If you look at some of the scenes they look apocalyptic

You know, the federal government could have pledged more if they didn't send all that money to Lebanon and Ukraine. 😢

At some point, places like this are going to have to be vacated and left to nature, the way they should have been long ago. Rebuilding (and new construction) is going to have to stop. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is not viable, in spite of people denying the reality that's directly in front of them.

If just that neighborhood has damage in the millions, then 612 million won't go far

Their choice to live there, it’s their problem.

Where was DeSantas when the president came to survey the damage? These two are fellow Americans looking out for the citizens they have responsibility for. Joe is a friendly guy, what is the problem in meeting?

DO NOT live in a low lying area in hurricane country. Simple!

There is an saying in addiction recovery community (NA is credited).
The definition of insanity... is do the same thing over and over... expecting a different result.
Take you pick as to whom it applies too... there are plenty of candidates to pick from.
