Tropical Storm Milton forms in the Gulf, headed to Florida as hurricane

Meteorologist Payton Malone has the latest update tracking the Tropics. TS Milton expected to land Wednesday in Florida as Cat. 3 hurricane or higher.

Very unusual track but not unusual for this late in the season. I mean, Joe's Stone Crab opens on October 15th for a reason.
I left FL. in 2022 for TX. and regret NOTHING. Living with the hurricane threats year after year was stressful. I got very good at prepping, generator, window unit, started buying cases of water & canned goods to stockpile in June, etc. But one day an Andrew or worse WILL COME.
Bless the people in FL. I hope they are preparing NOW! Don't wait. The store shelves will be cleared by this evening. Can't tell you how "comforting(?)" it was to go to the store before a hurricane only for common items like shampoo and soap knowing my prep closet had been fully stocked for the past 3 months. Shelves were empty of all other essentials.

Weird, indeed! Because two days ago it was supposed to be just a piddlin' Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm. And now Tampa's luck 🤞 is about to run out. 😢

The worst thing is that we know it will affect not only humans but fish as well. And thats the same thing for every hurricane. And it will rapidly grow as it’s in warm water.

the first update had Milton making landfall south of Tampa. The second update moved inline Tampa. The landfall is still in play.
